Perjury — in criminal law, willful false statement made under oath with respect to a material matter, either in a legal proceeding, as by a witness at a trial, or in matters in which an oath is authorized or required by law…

The senate is about to confirm a judge to the most powerful position in the nation, arguably MORE powerful than the presidency, who can't keep a story straight. No, she wasn't witness to a crime, unless you consider her speeches an incitement to attack not-so-wise white men.

We're talking about Judge Sotomayor's conflicts—with herself.

We have her answers. She offered many diverse ones at odds with her previous statements. Americans shouldn't have doubts about which Sotomayor shows up in court. The fact that Sotomayor's responses are multiple and different puts all of us peons in that precarious predicament.

You may ask, "Hey Weinbaum, who are you to accuse a Federal Appellate Judge of perjury?"

Amazingly, the allegation is made by liberal Hahvad-educated Georgetown Law Professor, Louis Michael Seidman. He said, "I was completely disgusted by Judge Sotomayor's testimony today. If she was not perjuring herself, she is intellectually unqualified to be on the Supreme Court. If she was perjuring herself, she is morally unqualified."

As for the charge of judicial impropriety which broke today in the New York Times of all places, there is a precedent. Clarance Thomas' confirmation hearing was reopened and continued to deal with the "new" charges from Anita Hill. The Sotomayor hearings could be reopened for judicial impropriety.

Just a suggestion.

She is certainly not qualified, not only to sit on our highest court, but to adjudicate traffic tickets in a municipal court. But, the democrats are in charge(elections have consequences) and qualifications mean nothing to democrats.

Yes I did and yes she is a liar. Pay particular attention to the words being said when the most eye-batting is going on. That's when the biggest lies are being told.

I’ve almost got a feeling that Barry (that throws like a Fairy) overloaded the Congress and Senate with Sotomayor, Crap and Trade, Palin, and HealthCare on purpose. His feeling may have been that he knew Healthcare would not pass so bargained with the GOP...give me SotoMayor and we will get rid of Healthcare. Just my opinion...

I think it's way more than just BO. We have the best government money can buy, and the buyers are getting their money's worth. A conservative nominee with the same number of issues on the opposite side of the political spectrum would never have even gotten hearings.

The Pubbies roll over when the Demos object and put on a nice bit of theatre but still roll over when it's the Demos turn.

Who's the fool? The Pubbies or the people who think our political/governmental system is 'real' and the Pubbies just keep 'losing'?
