There are no words I could speak that would take away the pain, but I am so very sorry. You are in my prayers.
Did you EVER find out how that DNR form got into your Dad's paperwork?? Who did it??
I'm amazed you're not in prison; my mother's getting on in years, and if something like that happened to her -- I'd have gone positively BALLISTIC! I can't say for sure how I'd have handled the situation, but there'd have been cops involved.
I made up my mind a VERY long time ago NOT to put up with that kind of junk where my family's concerned. WE don't take it from ANYONE. I WON'T STAND FOR IT.
So, my hat's off to ya for keeping your cool.
My friend, trust me, I was extremely upset inside.
Amidst all the difficulty I had to pretend it was nothing so as to distract my mother.
I am with you, this type of “mistake” should have never happened. My human instinct was to go after whoever did this so others don’t suffer, along that line. I suspect, even now, there is an angel of death there working in the ER, and he/she is not the only one.
After much prayers and reflection. I decided that I would forgive whoever did this, but I must admit, it is hard to forget.
All in all, I could say this from experience. Don’t listen to the crap they give you, this so called catholic hospital is not very catholic at all.
The thing is, if my father had died from this mishap, we would have probably not even known about this pink DNR paper was even there. Very scary stuff.
From that point on, everyday that I went to visit dad, I made sure the nursing staff with a fresh face knows that our family is very explicit that dad is to be saved with all efforts regardless.
This experience is very painful. I’m afraid it is only going to get worse as more trusting patients will simply get the “oooooops, he did make it” type of excuses.
We must be vigilant and not let this culture of death take over.

Prayers that you and your family will be comforted, knowing Stephanie is safe in God’s care and in the constant presence of His love.
It seems to me that you did all that you could. Resist bitterness and trust her to God’s sovereign care. God bless you.

I just now searched for your name and found your last post. I am so, so very sorry for your loss. I share your heartbreak. Your daughter, Stephanie, you, and your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m so sorry to hear of Stephanie’s passing. (major computer problems, I’ve been off and on line) I can only imagine your pain and sorrow, be assured of my continued prayers for your family.
I am greatly saddened to hear of Stephanie’s passing. She and your whole family had been in my family’s daily prayers. We will continue to pray for everyone involved, and particularly for the conversions of your father and brother.
