Why keep talking from their point of view? They successfully strung things out until they had sufficient time to produce what they think are workable nuclear weapons and a credible delivery system. Missile defence might keep them from successfully hitting Hawaii, but they can certainly nuke South Korea. Now they will try to extort the South, holding the nuclear weapons like a gun against Seoul’s head.

North Korea is nothing but a thuggish conman. The bait and switch/threat and rescue routine will never end. They've been playing this game for decades. It used to be shooting a G.I. across the DMZ, now they've graduated to nukes. The only thing that amazes me it that we keep getting suckered in while the stakes keeping getting more dangerous.
