Another Ethics Complaint Rejected

July 15, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska - The Alaska Personnel Board has rejected another ethics complaint lodged against Governor Sarah Palin.

The complaint alleged that the governor misused state time by accepting media interviews. The complaint also alleged that Governor Palin was paid for television and radio interviews. Governor Palin has not been paid for media interviews.

This complaint was filed by Raymond Alvin Ward on July 9. It was rejected in part because it was not properly notarized. In addition, Personnel Board Chairman Debra English said the board had already determined media interviews did not violate the Ethics Act. Ward lacked evidence to support his allegation that the governor received any payment for media interviews.

Governor Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, responded to the dismissal saying, "The board has appropriately determined that a complaint must have a factual basis of some type and that complaints based on pure speculation are not proper. This most recent complaint demonstrates the problem with the system, and the manner in which it can be abused."

“Frivolous lawsuits should cost the initiator all court costs and a fine.”

Amen to that. I’d like to see them have to risk something if they truly believe there’s red meat in their accusations. This current system sucks.

“I’m afraid it’s too late to save the republic.”

It probably is, but my hope is directed toward at least saving a large part of it.

Sad to say, but this is why I’m glad I don’t have children. I’m doing what I can to stop the slide but I am losing hope that the tide can be stemmed.

...can’t understand why they just didn’t dismiss each and everyone so quickly.

It's still a government agency. 'Nuff said.

To your point: My wife has a very liberal friend. This friend had been ignoring my wife’s repeated attempts at communication lately. When my wife finally said “ok, have a nice life”, this liberal friend finally confessed that she was jealous because my wife has everything she wished she had (husband and family) but couldn’t get.

she’s 18 for 18 in getting these dismissed...this is becoming a 3 ring circus in EVERY facet of politics. The fast train to socialism just hit 250 mph....overloading the system 8 steps at a time...

Ethical Violation that she USED STATE TIME TO TALK TO THE MEDIA.

OMFG.

No, not frivolous.... after all, NO politician talks to the MEDIA.....

This bastard, who filed the complaint, should be prosecuted for misuse of the State Complaint System.

"One other thing, her attorney was on Greta's show again just now and once again said these tactics are right out of the book on Rahm Emanuel..."The Thumpin"."

Time magazine had a good article on Palin and said the samething about the Rahm Emanuel "The Thumpin" link.
