Text of an email that I just received:
We truly are in the battle of our lives! Here are the facts on the new 1,018 page bill just released this afternoon. Unfortunately, it has all the bad ideas from previous versions, and more! For instance, there are new federal regulations on the rental of power-driven wheelchairs; new government rules on how providers are supposed to treat patients with dementia; and new regulations on smoking cessation, and everything in between.
In addition to the 1,000 pages of new federal regulations on health care, there are multiple taxes including in the bill because the government will need to raise more than $1 trillion to pay for these new regulations.
The bill creates a new government-run health plan that will undercut the private market pushing as many as 119 million people out of their private health insurance and be forced into a Medicaid-like plan. Employers will be pressed to drop their insurance benefits and send their employees over to the new government plan. This provision doesnt apply to Members of Congress, who will be able to keep their health plan.
The bill will also create a new federal health board, a group of government bureaucrats that will decide whether your health care is effective or not, which could endanger your ability to receive the health care you need.
To pay for the new federal health board, there will be a new fair share tax imposed on everyones health insurance to raise $375 million needed for the new bureaucracy. The government has not yet decided what your portion will be.
As I previously wrote to you, there will be a new tax on individuals without acceptable health care coverage. In other words, if your health insurance isnt government-approved you will be taxed.
So companies would be best advised to discontinue their health-care plans immediately? To keep from being locked into providing it in the future, without any changes being allowed, after this becomes law?
THIS is the federal government eliminating an industry. No more, no less.

They’re going to force it down our throats. If we gag or choke on it, that’s our problem..
Freedom died the day this man took office.

i.e. Flexible Savings Accounts.
Some CPA's recommend them for small business as well. With a letter of need, they can be used for alternative care, (Not tax advice) although that is controversial.
My guess is they will kill this as well, since you would try to get out of the system to help yourself.
New York's top income bracket could reach as high as 57 percent -- rates not seen in three decades -- to pay for the massive health coverage proposed by House Democrats this week.
Thanks for posting this, Kaslin. I almost dropped my coffee cup when I came across this poison pill in today’s IBD. We’re not talking about 20-30 million people losing their insurance in the first year, it would be 120 million!
Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal. When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.
It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:
"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.
So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers...
God help us...
Can this go in breaking news?
Does anyone know this answer? I currently have Tri-care Prime (Military govt. program) for which I pay a premium and co-pays that are affordable. I am pretty satisfied with it over the years it has been good, even with some glitches. In two months I am required to go on medicare and then Tri-care becomes my secondary insurance. At least that is the way it has been before. With this new program, will I be forced to give up Tri-Care?
Nor will new employees of companies be entitled to enroll in the premium private insurance that existing employees will have.
Once you lose your current insurance (which happens every time you change jobs, or your employer decides to reduce costs), then you are required to be covered ONLY under the Government plan.
If this passes, then this is the end of America.
It's not science fiction anymore.
