WASHINGTON -- The 9/11 attacks were an inside job perpetrated by the United States government. The Clintons had White House counsel Vince Foster murdered. John F. Kennedy was assassinated by Cuban exiles, the CIA, the FBI, the KGB or the mafia.
For so many signature moments in American history, there has been a conspiracy theory explaining how it all REALLY went down.
Now Barack Obama is finding out just how stubbornly some false charges persist.
Six months after he was sworn in as the 44th president of the United States, Mr. Obama continues to be bedevilled by a hard-core group of skeptics who contend his Hawaiian birth certificate is an elaborate fake and that, well, he may not be the legitimate president of the United States.
On right-wing Internet sites, in nuisance lawsuits brought by former political opponents, and even in the confines of White House press room, activists who dispute Mr. Obama's American citizenship are pressing demands for the president produce yet more evidence he was, in fact, born in the U.S.A.
"Goodness gracious. I'm going to be, like, in Year 4, describing where it is the President was born," a flustered Robert Gibbs, Obama's press secretary, said this week when a conservative White House reporter asked about the location of the president's birth.
"And the noble truth is that the President was born in Hawaii, a state of the United States of America."
It is unlikely Mr. Gibbs' statement will put an end to what has become a cause celebre among those on the nation's political fringe.
In June 2008, Mr. Obama's campaign felt compelled to post a digital scan of Obama's birth certificate online to quell a smear campaign alleging he was not a natural-born citizen and therefore, under the U.S. Constitution, disqualified from the presidency.

It’s not even a conspiracy. It’s a known liar being called out to prove what the Constitution demands he prove.
I offered to pay for multiple copies to be fed-exed to 10 media outlets. 9 of his choosing, 1 of mine. I didn’t hear back.
Seriously, this all goes away if he has Hawaii release his real birth certificate with the hospital name and the doctor's signature. You could get a COLB without much to back it up, so even if the one published on the web is really what Hawaii has on file, I don't consider it to be definitive.
I’m open to any innocent explanations about why he won’t do that. Never heard one. Just mindless denials.

False charges? How do we know it’s false charges? All he has to do is release his birth certificate and it would all go away.
Barack Obama is perpetuating this himself. And the butt kissing media who continue to say “He was born in Hawaii” are only repeating what OBAMA has said.

It’d be interesting if people started walking around with copies of their own birth certificates on prominent display. Pointing out how easy they are to come by.
I am not a “birther” by any means, I find it mildly interesting at best, because I think nothing will come of it eventually. Having said that, this is NOT a conspiracy theory, its simply the lack of a real, physical BC. I got mine laying around here somewhere, I don’t see what the big deal is. Put up or shut up.

Then they have the asinine gall to have a goofball “expert” state “If you are willing to be suspicious of all the arguments on one side and not even make an argument on the other, it’s logically very unbalanced.”
Zero can make this issue go away at anytime. Instead he’s pouring millions into keeping vital records that every other US President in history has released. The difference between this and the 9/11 conspiracy theories is that those were debunked, scientifically and authoritatively. Obama is hiding behind lawyers and media bungholes like the moron who authored this article.
