Michigan's unemployment rate for June of 2009 jumped to 15.2%. That's a 1.1% increase over the prior month.
Rates usually climb or fall by a few tenths of a percent. It's rare to see such a substantial increase or decrease.
But experts say the struggling economy combined with the ailing auto market means Michigan has been hit harder than other states.
We'll have much more on the numbers and what it means for Michigan tonight on 6 News at 5 and 6.

Seriously, Ohio is well on their way to catch up to us. I used “Export MI’s economy to the rest of the nation, vote Obama!” as my rallying cry last election. They didn’t get it then and they don’t get it now.
Of course, the fact that McCain abandoned the state and all of his fellow Republicans running for state and congressional offices had nothing to do with the margin of defeat.

Make sure not to buy anything from, or do business with, the socialists in Michigan. The cure for socialism is to keep as many Democrats as possible unemployed for as long as possible. Those Michigan morons haven’t got a clue yet, but 20%+ unemployment for a couple of decades will help. It’s doing wonders in Europe.

Good point. We know that people are moving yearly to the southeast - away from the dying blue states...now, of course, 0zer0 is trying to nationalize that despair.

The Michigan scenario should scare the pants off Conservatives. EPIC fail, yet they vote for Democrats. Ok Olbermann you listening......Urban minorities are destroying this country, yes it is their fault, from the illegals in LA to urban blacks in Chicago and Detroit they are primarily Marxists and helpless leeches. Now that they have co-opted the election system they are having a direct effect on suburbia also by diluting our votes with Acorn. The Marcus Garveys and Malcolm X’s right now are winning, they are toppling the countries institutions. Through social vampirism and inflicting white guilt on the rest of us we are cannibalizing our society.

Coleman Young drove the tax base from Detroit. Archer tried to arrest the process and Kilpatrick finished the city off. Easy mortgages let the ones who could get out move to the suburbs. It’s a cesspool now.
Gee I guess they have to vote for more Democrats to fix this problem. Can they all get jobs as census takers with COI?
