There is no shortage of threats to our economy. America's unemployment rate recently hit its highest mark in more than 25 years and is expected to continue climbing. Worries are widespread that even when the economy finally rebounds, the recovery won't bring jobs. Our nation's debt is unsustainable, and the federal government's reach into the private sector is unprecedented.
Unfortunately, many in the national media would rather focus on the personality-driven political gossip of the day than on the gravity of these challenges. So, at risk of disappointing the chattering class, let me make clear what is foremost on my mind and where my focus will be:
I am deeply concerned about President Obama's cap-and-trade energy plan, and I believe it is an enormous threat to our economy. It would undermine our recovery over the short term and would inflict permanent damage.

There is not a chance in the world that she won't. This is just what she needs to give gravitas to her political life.
Of course they did which is why all the morning shows were trashing her this morning...... they would not be doing that to someone who is a nothing and nobody.
I’m glad she wrote this. She needs to keep talking policy and ideas. Great job!
The only Republican with guts!
Exactly! She is being smart and this will be done in inches, not feet. The speech in Simi Valley is closed to the press, I read there is room for 900 people and the waiting list is huge. She will leave people asking for “more” and that is smart.
I apologize 100000 times! I wasn’t trying to be mean to you, I just didn’t word it right, and then was venting about the so called conservative journalists.
I think it is cool you have done ghost writing.
When I saw her next to Andrea Mitchell last week you could tell just how small she is, I don’t think Andrea is a large woman and Sarah was very tiny next to her.
Please...WaPo is desperate for circulation like all the other failing print media. Word of an op-ed by Palin this week is going to put their numbers WAY up tomorrow.
that’s the only grammatical error that jumped out at me-—it’s not huge and I’m incredibly nit-picky.
She looks fine to me, she is a small woman and an athlete, also the food they eat up there is natural and lower in fat and free of hormones, which helps people stay lean... she was heavier last year because she had just had a baby.
Sarah is 5’4” tall.
Then Andrea is larger than I thought, because she looked much larger than Sarah; at any rate I think Palin is a small-boned 5’4”.... JMHO... she looks well proportioned.
The folks in SoCal can run her by In-n-Out for a double-double next month.
She looks awesome. She’s an athlete and dumped weight after the pregnancy. Wish more Americans would be as athletic and healty eating as she is.
Yeah. Well—stress causes weght loss. She’s not a millionaire who can hire lots of protection. I hope she uses her book advances to protect herself.
A woman is a human being. And I know how Sarah has been pursued, I know how her family has been abused.
