Chris Parry of the Vancouver Sun recently wrote an article about a bunch of nasty comments posted about Obamas daughter Malia on Free Republic:
A typical street whore. A bunch of ghetto thugs. Ghetto street trash. Wonder when she will get her first abortion. Could you imagine what world leaders must be thinking seeing this kind of street trash and that we paid for this kind of street ghetto trash to go over there? wrote one commenter.
blah, blah, blah snipped
Those comments are pretty stupid. As much as I dislike Obama and his policies and his lack of honest with the public, and as much as I think hes taking this country in the absolute wrong direction, his family doesnt deserve comments like this. And such comments certainly arent productive, politically. People who might have been swayed by arguments focusing on Obamas policies are just going to be turned off by such nonsense.
And besides, FreeRepublic.com isnt alone in having comments like this. They happen at any blog with open comments liberal, conservative or otherwise. Im sure I could troll through the comments at Daily Kos, for instance, and come up with no small amount of mean-spirited and hateful invective aimed at the Bush family, including the twins Jenna and Barbara. Cherry-picking a few threads of comments and using those comments to smear an entire website and/or group of people is a silly game serious political commentators should stop playing.

I dont know if some or all of the FreeRepublic comments were, in fact, staged by Parry or others but certainly this undermines Parrys credibility.

If you’d like to track little Chrissy’s comment on DKos you can do so here:
Chris Parry:
http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2009/7/12/3517/23956/1476#c1476
“The Laura Bush thing I don’t recall ever saying, but it’s possible I posted something flip, way back when, having a bad day, getting in some gormless internet feud with someone, and never thinking anyone would give a crap about some 3am bluster. I just don’t have the time or inclination to look back over some 10,000 or so comments and dig up the context.”

Oh yes, now Chris is having trouble ‘recollecting’ that comment about Laura Bush that he made on March 25th, 2006, on a Saturday night at 7pm. Come on Chris, this was no 3am bluster...it’s all right there in black and white for you on the Kos...
It’s tough to recall such sick, heinous comments as gleefully advocating the First Lady’s murder, hey Chris?
Here unlike you, let us get into the context here:
http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2006/3/25/123845/796/16#c16
“If Laura Bush was on fire in front of me... (1+ / 0-)
..I’ll admit, I would use a fire extinguisher.
To crush her Femmebot-like head like a coconut, then I’d run around the block, giggling and yelling and firing off the extinguisher like a drunken fratboy at a South Beach Motel 6.
Then the people would rise up and overthrow the dark lords of Halliburton and we’d all have pie.”

Chris, Chris, our professional journalist buddy - what do you have to say for yourself, advocating the gleeful murder of a US First Lady...
Looks like Mr. Parry may getting a lesson in “what goes around comes around” and sometimes bites you in the bee-hind.
I am sure of it.
I found him on their website. He is a sports reporter, no way to tell if he’s full time or a stringer.
Have noticed this as well. I wondered if they'd figured out how to make up their own beginning dates somehow. It's nice to see some confirmation of it.
I hope you or MSNBC or your friends on the Left haven't set yourselves up as arbiters of language, norms, personal conduct and especially how those standards are applied. That's not right, is it?
FR has had accounts hacked. We have a freeper that was on Fox news as a guest commentator occasionally, MHKing. His account was hacked several times and he had to close it. His wasn’t the first. And I’m sure it wasn’t the last. There was also a young man that was using his deceased father’s account. Or so he said.
LOL..that is a classic...a keeper fer shure!
I think a better idea than a weeks waiting period is to set it to say the first 20 posts are moderated. That way if you see someone posting nasty things over and over you can zot them before they cause any damage. Just don’t tell them how many posts are moderated so they can’t play the system. :) This keeps sleepers under mosderation so they can’t create an account and come back to use it a year later. This is what I do with new member on my yahoo sewing group, there are a lot of idiots out there who live to cause trouble!
I need a break from yesterday. Still covered with filth. ;Z)
Well, the loony left and Bill O'Reilly. I'm sure he'll listen to this.
Regards,
TS
Exactly, Jim Robinson has explained that there were multiple threads that were removed, and that the thread that you wrote about was removed within 5 minutes of knowledge of it...
Yet, amazingly, that didn’t make it to your hit piece in the Vancouver Sun.
More amazing is the fact that you have sick, egregious, vile comments of your own, while pretending to care about the topic before your ahem, considered audience at the Sun...
What a total hypocrite you are to feign superiority in any way, shape or form...sickening in fact.
hmm...selective memory, I guess. Anyway, our Mr. Parry’s writing is grammatically incorrect. People who write vile things should try to write them well. That way, they don’t appear to be both creepy and unskilled. Of course, he might think his audience would never notice. What an insult to the Kos kids!
Parry is a weasel.
I still think we need be a subscription only to post or comment.
Lurkers be free to lurk.
If they join, then we FR has their money and access to their name and account info I would think.
Since Kristinn is FR's press rep, isn't it interesting that Mr Parry never contacted him before writing a story based on a Kos diary entry?
The bloodthirsty tactics of the enemies of freedom. These maggots are playing for keeps while our “compatriots” snivel and quiver and cry for peace at any cost.
Shall we conservatives behave as proper little gentlemen all the way to the gas chambers?
What about Freepers that can’t afford that plan?
“He joined FR yesterday once again as ChrisParry just to come and chat with us some more.”
He likes us!
