Well since I'm going to be on the road when the Shuttle launches, depending on the weather. I thought I post it now.

I’m praying for this mission. All these delays remind me of Challenger.

true...but, w/ no ice.. True, but with at least as much pressure to launch in an older vehicle. (Challenger was four 3.5 years in service, Endeavour is 17.)

Last I heard, the fleet was to be retired in 2010. Endeavor does not have much longer to go...I’m sure all will be well. :)

Last I heard, the fleet was to be retired in 2010.Hence the pressure to launch. Nine more launches after this one.

"Nine more launches after this one."Sure glad Mrs. Wasp and I got to see the one launch in early May that went up to fix the Hubble!!!
Are they simply going to abandon the shuttle after the last one? What will they supply the space station with after that? Just Russian personel and rockets?
Are we seeing the beginnings of America slouching off to third world status with no viable space program and no missle defense or ability to command the "high ground?" What???

Just Russian personnel and rockets?Yes, We Are...
Even though, America beat them in the Space race...
We're going "give-up" our space program / industrial technologies (to politically-correct
countries) for the "Greater / Glorious (Marxists) Peoples March to Space" program
(the 1st Five Year Plan) "w/ the tech. transfers" courtesy of the Klintoon's / Zer0Bambi's Admin.
to the DNC their Swiss Banks for Gold Bars / Ingots (hyper-inflation)...$$$$ will be worthless.
We're going to store 'em (if we're lucky, mothball 'em like USS New Jersey)
or scape 'em (like Northrup's Flying Wing..as a enviro / terrorist-weenies will claim
they're a future "Earth Hazard"), which is very very likely.....

Funny you should make the analogy to Apollo 13 today. When I got up this am to set the dvr to record the launch, NASA TV was showing a program about Apollo 13. Kinda wierd timing isn’t it?
I hope Endaevour gets off the pad today. The crew must be getting tired of these countdown demonstration tests. Lets light this candle already.
