Twitter and Daily Kos | Saturday, July 11, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 07/11/2009 4:53:55 PM PDT by kristinn

The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:

@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web

The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR

Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.

David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.

As I said in another thread on the issue, if FR doesn’t clean up the junk, the Freepathons will take longer and longer.

Ziegler Spars With MSNBC’s David Shuster Over Palin Interview

“Is that your opinion, David? As an alleged news person, is that your opinion that she was unprepared to be Vice-President of the United States? See, that sounds very objective, David.”

Actually I think Shuster is a total whore and would say whatever for whoever if the money was right. I doubt he has any sincere political beliefs.

That said we should not take shots at Obama's kids. We give goons like Shuster an opening they will exploit for their benefit.

IMHO, it is the nature of the Internet, I see this on forums of all types, anonymous posters allow people to vent and it also allows people to play roles, such as leftists who comment as a parody of what they think the right is (or whatever the topic is).. Years ago when many of us first joined, the Internet was new and people who joined where serious about Conservative activism, now, every 10 year old has a computer and we don’t know if grandma111 who is talking about her cats is really said 10 year old playing games.

And remind me why I should care what you think?

It follows logically that if you ask me questions then, if you are an honest person, you would care what I think.

I don’t know how old you are but I find it offensive, That sign was used in the 60’s by every stinking libeal maggot while guys like my husband served this country.

The people so fond of it were folks like William Ayers and the scum at Kent State. Hanoi Jane and Jon F’n Kerry probably liked it too.

Are you offended by Che shirts? You know they had pix of that person hanging in some Obama campaign offices.

Obama unfortunately has the job of POTUS. His job is to protect and defend the Constitution. His job is to represent the people of this country, since his family lives in that house they need to show respect for the people of this country too. When and if the Obama’s ever decide to live up to any of that, they might be worthy of respect.

There are "Obama Truth Squad" people who've been caught using Freeper signons that date all the way back to 1998. I presume the DNC had operatives who planned ahead, or they know how to hack the system. Sometimes a Feeper signon does get hijacked ~ I'm thinking this evening's "saquin" is one such critter.

Yep, that too. And one needn't be a tinfoil hat conspiracy paranoid to think such a thing goes on. It's simple to do much of this (not hacking accounts, but making outrageous comments while posing as a legitimate member).

With the tens of thousands of comments every day, I don’t see how the mods can keep up with it all.. that’s why we need to be sure to use the abuse button. If no one clicks abuse, or if everyone assumes someone else reports it, nothing is done just because there is too much stuff to weed through. Imagine if Facebook, for example, was judged for the posts of every single member.

You’re real. You’re just not conservative. There’s a big difference.

You should be quite afraid of this because every last shred of credibility you have exists solely because of your tenure hear. Had you signed up in early 2008, you would unquestionably be dismissed as a troll. Your posts essentially make that case.

Nope, what it means is I have better things to do with my time than try to dig through thousands of threads just to prove something to you that should be obvious to you if you spend any real time here.

IOWs it would be a really daunting task to find such a post even for someone who claims to have seen one. Or you're lazy. Or you're lying.

No doubt we are being Alinskied. Our side has to be perfect. The liberals at Kos and HuffPo can lie, smear and be as nasty and racist as they want to and are rewarded for it.

I have been a member here since 1997 and I can tell you that the discourse has deteriorated significantly in the last few years. This used to be a site where people of conservative/libertarian bent came to intelligently discuss politics, religion, science etc. Now we have too many on here that have no concern about personal attacks and name calling when someone disagrees with them.

Exactly what I've been trying to say. But apparently, that makes me not the "real saquin".

Most people generally have a “I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it” attitude.

When something is clearly out of line, you (nor anyone else), do not have access to that persons freepmail, or any other communication other than postings. You have no idea what other people feel or think. We do still have freedom of thought and speech. And the left has been so indecent and disgraceful this past year or so, even longer but not so often, that it tends to bring out the worst in people.

If you want to stop people from saying things you might find offensive, you should start with the left, and that might soften attitudes more than attacking free speech will.
