Obama Worship vs. Palin Worship...What's the difference?
7-11-09 | Bob J

Posted on 07/11/2009 10:48:53 AM PDT by Bob J

We all loved Sarah. She rescued the sinking McCain campaign, said all the right things and holds pretty much the same positions of most FReepers.

They all love Obama. He rescued the sinking DNC, said all the right things and holds pretty much the same positions of most liberals.

Dems, liberals and the MSM are condemned for their all consuming adoration, virtual blindness to any mistakes or faults and slobbering worship of the man. Yet when the same thing happens to Palin it turns into a virtue.

Sarah was a real coup for conservatives. But when she announced her resignation many of us saw this for what it was, a deal breaker for a Presidential campaign. Oh she might run in '12 and she might even win the nomination. But she will not be able to shake the black mark of being labeled a "quitter" by her opponent and the MSM and it is very unlikely she will be able to garner the votes among right leaning dems and independents needed to win the general election.

Sarah decided to give up the hardship of public service. Hers was much harder than most, her opponents and the MSM were relentless in their vicious attacks and persecution. Instead she decided to go for the gold, writing books, the lucrative speakers circuit, not having to answer to a hostile critics and media.

I don't blame her, I think she did what was best for herself and family so I hold no animosity for it. But let's not deceive ourselves. She effectively has taken herself out of the game, a game in which we all were invested heavily in her political future. We NEEDED Sarah to lead a conservative revolution and anyone who thinks she can do it from the sidelines, the speakers circuit, is fooling themselves, just look at Newt. Sarah wnet for Sarah and we were kicked to the curb.

All I'm wondering is if the Palin cheering section, the one that praises every move, every decision whether it's good or bad, the ones that believe she can do no wrong, the ones who look to Sarah as a second coming of some sort, can you please take off the blinders for one second and see reality of the situation?

I ask this because I see these blind followers possibly leading us down a road to failure in '12. Let Sarah be, let her speak, write books, continue saying all the right things, make lots of money and establish some peace in her private life. She, of all, knows her decision has taken her out of the presidential ball game and she is good with it (if she doesn't then she does not have the political savvy to earn our support).

But quit with the relentless, vicious, nasty and foul attacks on your fellow FReepers who have taken the blinders off and made peace with what this all means. You're not doing Sarah any good and of she read some of things that are being written here I have a feeling she'd be the first to blush and ask it to stop.

You nailed it. It is all rhetoric and no substance, just like Obama. Where the heck does she stand on the issues?

Nobody said she could do no wrong. But we should not be faulted for looking at what she did as a good thing. You characterize it as “quiting”. You aren’t in her shoes and you don’t see her strategy. I believe that she is simply reinvesting her assets where they can count. Our country is in deep trouble. Would you rather her stay as a hamstrung governor of a state far away from the action or in the fight with us fighting for something higher than her own survival. Man up and stop holding her to your perception of what she did. We can wait and see what happens from here. Don’t condemn her at the outset.

"You nailed it. It is all rhetoric and no substance"

Once again demonstablely false accusation. She has a record of public service in Alaska. All one has to do is investigate (google) that record and one gets a pretty good idea that she is anything but "all rhetoric and no sunstance".

Grandmama I am going to try really hard to be nice.

I own a working class beer joint in a back water village in Texas. If I where to stand up at my bar and say that, like I really meant it, I would get my ass kicked.

These so called unprincipled Democrats work hard everyday, pay thier bills, fight the counties wars, and struggle to survive just like most Republicans to do. Do you know why these unprincipled Democrats vote Democratic? George W Bush, the failed policies of George W Bush have pushed these folks firmly into the camp of the Democratic party.

Who in the Republican party cared when thier jobs were being shipped over seas? Who in the Republican party cared thier schools and hospitals and jailed were being over run by illegal aliens? Who in the Republican party cared when thier 401k's were being pilfered by wall street mega millionaires?

Grandma, you really need to get out more and do a reality check. Most of our elected officials D's and R's are nothing but self serving thieves and con artists and THE PEOPLE KNOW IT. "No principled person would be a Democrat", lol, after George W Bush I could just as easily say No principled person would be a Republican.

Your blind addiction to party labels and your relentless attacks on Sarah Palin reveal a mind incapable of critical thinking.

Then go vote Democrat if you can't tell the difference. I wouldn't be caught dead voting for a Democrat. I did once--many years ago but I vow never to do it again.

You want to know why jobs disappear overseas? It is because of excessive regulations put on American businesses that makes them uncompetitive. I know from first hand experience. As a small business owner I had to keep my expenses as low as possible to stay in business. My business was no different than anyone elses. I had a product to sell and I was in a competitive situation. The only way I could make a profit and stay in business was to do as much business overseas as possible.

Democrats are responsible for destroying jobs. Because of their draconian laws regarding mandating, minimum wage, overtime laws, workmen's comp, vacation, health care, and any other laws RATS can think to mandate on business to keep their unions happy, it becomes more and more difficult.

None of this is the government's business. Government's role should be to enforce an agreement between two people--nothing more--it's called freedom.

Your premise that Republicans were for illegal immigration when it was the RATs that do everything within their power to encourage illegal immigration. They want every one of these illegals so they can vote for them--again and again.

You certainly didn't see any Democrats fighting to curb illegal immigration but there were plenty of Republicans fighting to stop it.

Give credit where credit is due.

Today's Democrats are totally corrupt. You have to know that so why are you defending Democrats while trying to blame Republicans for everything.

To be sure, Republicans are not perfect but they are far, far superior to Democrats.

Uh, it was the rich Democrats of Wall street who were the one caught up in the corruption. Most of them were involved in the collapse of the housing market. If you read FR, you know that.

Barney Frank, Jamie Gorelick, Chris Dodd, Tim Geithner, are just a few that come to mind in a flash. I can spend time finding more--lots more but why? If you really believe Republicans are no better than Democrats, you have a problem.

I NEVER made an attack on Sarah Palin. What made you think I did? Questioning the wisdom of Palin volunteering to stump for certain Democrats is not an attack. I'm willing to keep an open mind about her. What is see is a certain segment of Freepers who do not have an open mind.

I have repeatedly said Sara Palin was high on my list until this happened yesterday. I need to know more. If she actually goes out and stumps for a congressional Democrat, she will no longer be on my list of those I will consider for president. Of course, that leaves me with no one at this point. We need to give this more time.

One more time, here is what she said

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation"

And you have twisted that into her stumping for Democrats, shame on you.

She claimed she would stump for certain Democrats. If you don't like that, take it up with Sarah, not me. Those were her words--not mine.

I'm sorry if you don't like it because it disturbs me, too.

We have a whole lot of people who look upon Sarah Palin as a goddess and incapable of doing wrong or making a mistake.

I have warned it is dangerous to do that because no one is perfect and there is only one way to go when people have those kinds of expectations of an individual. She is human--not superhuman.

lol, ONE MORE TIME, since you are extremely dense, here is the quote, "I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation" that is the direct quote, not the spin put on the quote by the media. You are taking the spin and running with it. So I ask AGAIN where is the link to a quote where Sarah says she will "stump for democrats", which is what you are spouting on EVERY Sarah Palin thread.

Google? posting a google search as a link? lol, Why don't you just admit that you CAN'T post a link quoting Sarah Palin saying she will stomp for Democrats. The stomp for Democrats thing is MEDIA SPIN. I've posted the real quote, not the spin, serveral times. You are BUSTED as a anti Sarah propagandist.
