Yep, she’s trying to peel off the so-called Blue Dogs. Canny move-—it’s not about Republicans and Democrats, it’s about Conservative values. I wonder how Pelosi and Reid will react?
Excellent move. Excellent tactic.
Ridiculous. First, there's no such thing as a conservative democrat, period. Second, those so-called, blue dog democrats happily vote for Nancy Pelosi, Stoyer and Reid in leadership positions as well as the likes of Rangel, Waxman et. al. into their committee chairmanships.
And, what does Pelosi and her band of Merry Men do? They freeze out Republicans, you know, the ones who actually vote for conservative principles and values. Palin's going to need a new slogan - Sarah Palin, David Axelrod's Secret Weapon.
She simply is not a party politician, she is an American.
Blessings on her, we need to flush Congress and the House from every single hack that would choose party over people.
They are nothing but a Mafia family, the Republicans and the Democrats alike.
I will vote with Sarah and those who back her and conservative values.
It sure is, I agree. For the rest on this thread who are going to poo-poo Palin for "reaching across the aisle" that's not what she's doing. She's reaching out to re-build the same coalition that Ronald Reagan did when he defeated Carter in '80 and whooped Mondale's ass with a 49 state win in 1984. Reagan didn't reach out to the Democrat politicians, he reached out to the Southern, Conservative Democrats (blue dogs) which in turn forced many Dem's to run on Reagan's platform as Democrats. It was smart for Reagan, and it's smart for Palin.
I have to admit, I was very skeptical of her resignation but with each passing day I see a little more just how smart that move really was. Surely she's read Sun Tsu's The Art of War as it's painfully obvious to anyone who can put aside their skepticism for just a moment, that Palin's going about the business of co-opting her enemy's army. Again, same thing Reagan did in co-opting the Conservative blue-dog Democrats in '80 and '84.
I once branded her "Reagan in a skirt" on here after McCain nominated her and she lit up crowds during the '08 campaign. She may prove that label right yet.
Watching with continued interest ....
It is the best idea I’ve seen in quite a while. Three parties don’t work but this just might. It’s like forming a “conservative party” without the party label.
“its about Conservative values”
It’s about the Constitution....(not trying to be argumentative but our conservative principles are derived directly from the intent of our Conservative founders scripted in the Constitution.) We need to get away from labels and get back to the Constitution (as originally intended and written)
Bingo!
