ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.
The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."
"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla population 7,000 where she began her political career.

Amen. You said that very well.
Sarah thrives on challenge and she has a clear goal.
Status-quoers - Rats and RINOs - see her firing as many as she can in ‘10. Yep, they’re terrified. They assumed Sarah was another status-quoer, very wrongly.
Amen, any conservatives, anywhere?
Makes one scratch your head and wonder. For those who think she is the most principled person in the world, she may not be worthy of that pedestal.
grandma...the base is conservative in the R party but the leadership isn’t....don’t you get it??
No, we agree. Most politicians from either party would kill for her drawing power....
Obviously some can’t touch her, the pro-abortion, the pro-tyranny of the minority crowd.
I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already had inquiries from so called conservative Democrats.
You won’t last long here with those views. - Thia is a conservative site, not a Republican site.
Don’t know the difference? - No surprise!
Well, we’ll see, I would be willing to bet a sizable donation that she won’t be stumping for any “Conservative democrat” because they won’t ask her to, and if there even were one the party wouldn’t allow it.
Did you feel the same way about Reagan when he did the same thing? First of all, find me a Conservative Democrat, I doubt she finds one, if she does, find one, and I think that person is a good person who cares about country, Id support that person. Like I said, I have not found one Conservative Democrat. I think the odds of her finding one are impossible
Yep. She looks like she's trying to squeeze out a tough poopie. The press go out of their way to find the least flattering pix of her. It isn't easy.
Politicians are just that politicians. Some are better than others of course but in the long run they are after power, control and money. Now someone has to have the power, control and money but don’t be fooled into thinking they are more than they are.
Maybe but every elected Democrat lawmaker makes the Democrat party more entrenched in the majority. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ADVANCE ANY KIND OF A CONSERVATIVE AGENDA WITH RATS IN THE MAJORITY. If she’s willing to stump for conservative Dims, they’re still counted toward the majority. Without a better explanation, this is a very bad move.
Thanks!
BUMP!

Palin specifically stated during the ‘08 campaign that she supported anyone, regardless of party affiliation, who was determined to do what was right for Alaska or the country. I got that message from her speeches and do not question her principles at all.
That photo has been doctored to add lines to her face. Its very obvious.
Don’t you see what she is doing, she is creating her own Independent Conservative party. She is done with the GOP, she sees the polls, more people are Conservative now more then ever. I’ve believed for months that she is done with the GOP and might go out and create her own party, I was unsure of it, but I really think that is her motive for doing everything that she has done
It sure is, I agree. For the rest on this thread who are going to poo-poo Palin for "reaching across the aisle" that's not what she's doing. She's reaching out to re-build the same coalition that Ronald Reagan did when he defeated Carter in '80 and whooped Mondale's ass with a 49 state win in 1984. Reagan didn't reach out to the Democrat politicians, he reached out to the Southern, Conservative Democrats (blue dogs) which in turn forced many Dem's to run on Reagan's platform as Democrats. It was smart for Reagan, and it's smart for Palin.
I have to admit, I was very skeptical of her resignation but with each passing day I see a little more just how smart that move really was. Surely she's read Sun Tsu's The Art of War as it's painfully obvious to anyone who can put aside their skepticism for just a moment, that Palin's going about the business of co-opting her enemy's army. Again, same thing Reagan did in co-opting the Conservative blue-dog Democrats in '80 and '84.
I once branded her "Reagan in a skirt" on here after McCain nominated her and she lit up crowds during the '08 campaign. She may prove that label right yet.
Watching with continued interest ....
I’m not going to insult you, but David Axelrod is very afraid of this lady. She’s taking the fight outside the box and trying to build a coalition.
I doubt very seriously that she’s going to campaign with Reid and Pelosi Democrats. It’s called saying the right thing. She’s being inclusive by offering herself as something different and inviting big ego indy’s and Dems who are bored with socialism to join her.
We are always trying to expand the Republican appeal. Most Rino’s say to do that by giving up social issues and whispering instead of shouting and lying on our backs instead of engaging. She is taking us away from the zombie politics that have wrecked our party and movement since Bush one.
And unless the media comes up with some new stuff, they will soon hit the point of saturation. She isn’t on a ballot, won’t be a governor and has nothing to lose.
