Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"
Washington Times ^ | July 12, 2009 | Ralph Z. Hallow

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

“He loses 45 Million +/- on a failed campaign”

Really? Let me spell it out for you:

1976 - Ford def. Reagan

1980 - Reagan def. Bush

1988 - Bush def. Dole

1996 - Dole coronation

2000 - Bush def. McCain

2008 - McCain def. Romney, Huckabee

2012 - [Take a guess]

Here’s the dirty little secret: It’s not a 2 year campaign for the GOP nomination - it’s a 4 to 8 year campaign and Romney’s at halftime. So you may very well call it a “failed campaign” and money “wasted” but they sound more like famous last words to me or some such thing.

Gates claims to be Republican

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28022197/

“Gates also cleared up confusion about his political affiliation.

During his tenure at the CIA, he said, he thought he should be apolitical so he did not register with a political party (”Lame”- Impy) But, he added, “I consider myself a Republican.” “

He’s probably a RINO like the others.

I don’t think Peggy has been pro-abortion. I seem to recall reading more than one pro-life column of hers. She had a child out of wedlock—i.e., he wasn’t aborted. I would have guessed he’s around twenty.

In fact, in What I Saw at the Revolution, Peggy tells of the dinner when Nancy invited Betsy Bloomingdale and some other of her liberal friends, and they started tag-teaming Ronnie about how he needed to dump the pro-lifers, they didn't have anywhere else to go, etc. After a couple of them had given their little speeches, Ronnie turned to Nancy, and said, "I know what you're up to. It isn't going to work. This is a matter of principle." In telling the story, Peggy spoke quite disparagingly of Nancy and her snooty pro-abortion pals.

JP - honored to get a ping from you. I’ve enjoyed your posts here, at C4P and at [TexasForPalin?]

As you’ve probably noted from my comments, I think Sarah indeed is sending a not-so-subtle message. I also think that excitement and understanding among conservatives is building for what she is doing, even those who are die-hard Republicans for whom the fight was always defined only in terms of Democrats.
Ever since Reagan left the stage, for me it’s been defined as American patriots vs. the cultural nihilists and the globalist traitors (in other words, those who largely control both establishment parties).

I also sense that more and more media figures are beginning to stand up and give Sarah credit if not support.

This thing is building....

Yes sir (or ma’am). Sarah definitely “gets it” and increasing numbers of her countrymen also get it.

Ok, I am convinced on her “Catholic” bona-fides. However, I have seen her pine for “gay rights” on PMSNBC.

southern conservative rats are almost always less conservative than their GOP

I was comparing southern Dems to northern Rinos...but you're right.

That is because you are a CONSERVATIVE first, not a REPUBLICAN first. (Just like Free Republic and its mission statement itself!)

Just like most of us around here who have been around the block, and could not give a rats ass in reelecting any RINO to office, if there were [albeit rare, granted] a more conservative choice accross the aisle.

I can’t speak about the last fifteen years or so. Obviously, sometime in the last few years, she has gone over to the “dark side.” She wrote beautiful stuff about 9/11 and the heroes of that day—the firemen were 90% Catholic, and the cops who died were 95% Catholic.

But her pro-Obama sewage, and her anti-Palin ravings? Sick.

I really get tired of hearing Republicans talk about “stumping” for Democrats. This reminds me of John McCain saying while running for office that Obama would make a good President. Egads! (And then his folks have the audacity to blame Palin for his lost.)

The Democrat party is one of pro-abortion, spending, destroying the military, etc trying to instill socialist (if not communist) values. Do you think you’ll ever hear Peloski or Frank say they’re going to stump for Republicans who share their same values? The choices should be more clearly defined and until the Republicans get serious about defining themselves, this country will slip more and more into socialism.

Sarah shouldn’t be talking about supporting Democrats. She should be talking about getting rid of the RINOS.

So you, as a "conservative", are hoping that a guy who is proud of something he created that required 800 million in federal rescue money, something that places mandates on individuals and business, something that has drained the coffers of his OLD home state, something that even as we speak he gives an A grade to, becomes the next "automatic" Republican candidate for President of the US.

Let me spell it out for YOU

N-O W-A-Y

Oh, and one minor little note, that was 44 million of Mr. brilliant business man's OWN money, not just that he raised, that bumps up a few ticks higher. Plus we are not hiring Mitt to run an investment firm, but the government. He may be the bees knees in the public sector, but as a government executive...

Well...

We see that record is a bit different...

Sarah is the real deal in so many ways that are foreign & dangerous to the RINOs.

I expect Steele to keep 2012 primaries open so the liberals can crossover to vote for the RINO candidates ie myth & huckster. Steele will do whatever to keep Sarah from being the nominee.
