ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.
The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."
"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla population 7,000 where she began her political career.

Nelson is a Democrat because he votes more ofter as a liberal than he does as a conservative.
I like Mitt Romney and Sarah Palin, and I will vote for either one. IMO the main purpose is to get the majority back again in 2010 and 2012
Just make sure that the majority is actually conservative rather than just a bunch of Democrats in Republican drag.
I hope she lifts up the republican party...I think it is worth saving. So did Reagan. That is why he switched parties, the dems left him and they are leaving their own party right now as they learn about the way it has been overtaken by genuinely dirty people.
"I am pleased to see Senator Obama acknowledge the huge potential Alaskas natural gas reserves represent in terms of clean energy and sound jobs," Palin says in the release. "The steps taken by the Alaska State Legislature this past week demonstrate that we are ready, willing and able to supply the energy our nation needs."
"We in Alaska feel that crunch and are taking steps to address it right here at home," Governor Palin said. "This is a tool that must be on the table to buy us time until our long-term energy plans can be put into place. We have already enjoyed the support of Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, and it is gratifying to see Senator Obama get on board."

When John McCain said that to that elderly woman I was like OK DONE. McCain is a slime ball, the only good thing he did in the Presidential election was picking Sarah Palin, other then that he did absolutely NOTHING right
Even her feet are beautiful! I love this woman
Yeah, that was back in I believe January when she thought he was getting on board with energy independence. Have you read all the recent stuff she has said about Obama, she has slammed him left and right
Wait a second, I just re-read that quote “Senator Obama” he wasn’t even President yet. Your quoting stuff she said when the guy was still Senator. Is that the best you can do
I had not heard these but they in no way represent the Republican party and I can assure you, Obama is despised by a great majority of Republicans and you know it.
It is my intense dislike of Obama and ALL elected Democrats that makes me intolerant of anyone who gives them any credit for anything. The modern-day elected Democrats are totally evil and are destroying us and in no way do I want anyone to give them the slightest encouragement or help. They are to be despised and I also despise these so-called "conservative" Democrats. They have to know they're helping advance the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda and putting our republic and very existence in peril
Count me in the “skeptic” category (skeptical of the strategy). Ummm, exactly how many of these “conservative” Democrats DID NOT vote for Pelosi or Reid for leadership posts? In the Senate there is only one Dem (Nelson) who isn’t a Moonbat!
OTOH, if she can persuade “conservative” registered Democrats to vote conservative, she would have some impact. As we reflect on Reagan’s coalition it is useful to note that was thirty years ago, with an additional three decades of people moving through government indoctrination camps for twelve years, and another three decades of metastasized growth of the central collective, and three decades of increased myrmidon dependence...
I hear you and I think there’s something to what you say, but conservatives got burned by not coalescing around a single candidate soon enough last time around, and they haven’t had a candidate either singing their song or drawing crowds like Palin for decades—let alone both.
But I too just have my fingers crossed for her at this stage.
Better than any democrat member of congress however.
Ray LaHood, Republican: Obama’s Secretary of Transportation.
Robert Gates, Republican: Obama’s Secretary of Defense
Jim Huntsmann, former Republican Governor of Utah: Obama’s Ambassador to Communist China.
Mary Shapiro, Republican: Obama’s Chairwoman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Yep ‘reaching across the aisle’ is great isn’t it?.... Aug. 08 was back when she was being mentioned as a VP selection.
Hey, where were you when the Kool-Aid was being passed out, huh?
Not anymore
Yes, you are correct, he's my rep. I didn't mean to imply he was a Congressional Dem.
Still, he is a Dem, and in Oklahoma we have term limits. I would not have the slightest problem with Palin campaigning for Mr. Walker, if he decided to run for higher office. Your brush has a wide stoke, and yes, I voted for Mr. Walker.....
The number of states where there is a viable third party is zero, void, zip, zot, shutout.
Do you know that in North Dakota, where George W. Bush got >60% of the vote, that BOTH of their Democrat senators ran unopposed
No Conrad did run against a Republican in 2006 and it's looking like Republican Gov. Hoeven will run for the vacated Dorgan seat.
We couldn't nominate a Presidential candidate, a real one, in 2008. The party chairman is a leftist.
Odd coming from you who supported Rudy a canidate who if nominated would have split the Republican party.
As I said I believe the best place to start building a common sense conservative coalition is the same place where most of that coalition currently resides. That place happens to be the Republican party.
And you never answered the two questions that I asked you. What would Ronald Reagan think? What did Ronald Reagan do?
There are NO good Democrats. Those “so-called” Blue Dog Democrats are the same who are in the party leading this country into bankrupcy. You don’t hear them arguing with their party or voting against it. I can understand her position of being selective of Republicans, but if she supports Democrats I’d will have lost my respect for her.
