Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

Is Sara Palin the irritant the new Pearl is formed on? Here's hoping

Focus should be regaining control of the legislature by putting more GOP members in congress.

You have hit the nail on the head.

That sounds like a very plausible scenario.

Remember, a lot of the dems had differing ideas as to what “hope and change” meant. They see the change they’ve gotten from 0bama and their hope has dwindled. Reality is setting in and it will shape up to be a good 2010 and 2012 for our side. I see Palin being instrumental in ensuring more conservatives get elected to replace the idiots (on both sides of the aisle) that have caused so many of the problems our nation now faces.

If I lived in Arizona, you couldn’t pay me to re-elect John McCain to the senate. Anyone who runs against him I would support, Democrat or Republican. I just want McCain out, I am sick of these RINO losers who come out and act all sweet and nice towards Obama and his policies. Sarah has been one of the FEW in the GOP who have come out and bashed Obama, other then her and maybe a few others, who have had the balls to come out and call Obama what he is

The first opinion is partisan in its hate for the Republican party regardless of how reckless that hate

That's left-wing talk. I don't "hate" the GOP, but I recognize a corpse when I see it.

There are (apparently) parts of the country where a GOP organization is viable. I live in a part of the country where that's not true.

The number of states where there are a) lots of conservatives, and, b) no viable GOP organization, continue to grow and grow,

Do you know that in North Dakota, where George W. Bush got >60% of the vote, that BOTH of their Democrat senators ran unopposed?

That is as if the Democrats let two Republicans run unopposed for the Senate seats in California, or Massachusetts.

It's more and more difficult to find GOP candidates in easily winnable races. The ones we DO find are secret Democrats like Crist or Christie.

We couldn't nominate a Presidential candidate, a real one, in 2008. The party chairman is a leftist. There are large and important parts of the country where the party effectively does not exist.

Wake up and smell the coffee. The party's OVER. It's time to do something different.

We gave the Republicans both houses and the WH. They blew it. They will have to earn our trust from now on. It is important for us to take the House and Senate back but on our terms.

If you’re talking about the next presidential election, I have no idea. Who’s running? Palin was in my favorable column but if it looks like she’s selling out, she’ll be gone.

Oh i know. It seems there are more extreme RINOS then DINOs. Currently, Only Ben Nelson would even come close on the Dem side when you look at the senate.

At least give McCain credit for making Palin a household name.

They will never turn on him because they have invested interest in him staying in office..and the hard core leftists, the Daily Kos idiots, the DU Dummies, they will jump off a cliff if Obama told them to, they will always support him, no matter what, 30 percent unemployment, 20 trillion dollar debt, they won’t care, but the Reagan Democrats, the ones who are more Centrist, they will turn on him,

The media, the far left, and the willingness to use physical violence, may be all that is needed. Certainly the far left has not shown any reluctance to use force, and the media will look the other way, or cheer them on, depending on the particular outlet.

The GOP is like Britney Spears, Sarah is trying to do an intervention to save their lives. The GOP is all over the damn place, they praise Obama, they slam Obama, then they praise him again. Let’s see how many of these so-called Republicans come out against Sonya Sotomayor. I should not see ONE Republican vote YES for her, if I do, well that pretty much seals the deal on what the GOP is.
There are good parts to the GOP that can be saved, and there are other parts that need to be wiped out

I should not see ONE Republican vote YES for her

Last I heard, McCain was "undecided," and Graham was saying that he could "see" himself voting for her.

And the GOP better get the hint !!

Right on "dfwddr." One of the best comments yet! Amen!!

She’s setting up as an “Independent-Conservative.” Some good things and some bad things about that.
