Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"
Washington Times ^ | July 12, 2009 | Ralph Z. Hallow

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

Because they both have things to offer.

That narrows it down.

The first vote that every dem representative makes is for Nancy Pelosi as speaker. The first vote that every dem Senator makes is for Harry Reid for Majority Leader. It is impossible to support any Dem for either branch of Congress and be conservative, no matter how conservative they are in their voting record (and there are NONE that are conservative.) There are a smattering of Dems that are allowed to occasionally vote conservative on some issues (gun control or illegal immigration, for example), but they are only allowed to do so because of their district, and if Nancy really needs them to win, she will force them to vote with her.

So, it is impossible to vote for any Democrat on the national level and be true to conservative principles. At the state level, maybe, depends on the dynamics of that state. But not national.

Only exception is to vote out a RINO so you can ultimately get a conservative in. Usually, it is better to get rid of a RINO in the primary process, but there are times when it's just better to be rid of them entirely. Arlen Specter (before he switched) and Linseed Graham come to mind.

I agree with the concept, but I will be unhappy if she supports any Dems who are running for Congress.

She’s not only a brilliant natural politician, but she may prove to be the best political strategist of this generation.

Conservative Democrats don’t exist. Reagan democrats do, but not Conservative ones. She won’t be getting any phone calls. No Democrat is gonna want her at a rally so that she can bash Obama, it won’t happen. She is playing a brilliant strategy here, she is saying “Hey find me a Conservative and I will support them, no matter what party they belong to” no response from Democrats “Oh well see I tried”

Yes, I think that is the strategy she's playing here and if true it shows her to be very smart.

We shall see.

Understood. And Palin will have to be able to read them well to ascertain their true intentions... if any so-called conservative Democrats come forward. I believe there are some good honest people that still consider themselves Democrats and if Palin backs one of them in a dem primary to unseat an entrenched liberal dem, then that’ll be a good thing. Then the choice will be between a conservative dem and a republican for the general election. Not necessarily a fix in and of itself, but definitely a step in the right direction.

I have confidence that Governor Palin knows what she’s doing.

Isn't that the definition of RINO. Didn't Arlen Spector claim to be an independent voice of the gop ?

Arlen Spectre is not pro-life, and he is not pro-America. Remember he's the goofball that pulled out the "Scottish Law" crap during the impeachment Senate vote.

There are many millions of Democrat voters who vote against Republican RINOs because they rightly judge them for exporting American jobs to out enemies.

Globalist Republicans and globalist Democrats all need to be replaced with pro-American candidates.

So, its a weak group of people who let themselves be controlled by their own minority and the desire to be liked by the media and to be a member of this fine "club"of elitists in Washington DC..

The Republican party is begging for a split.

I hope they run out of money.

We have Obama and his coat tails today because of the Republican party.

I've been asking posters to name one for over two hundred posts, no names so far. Big platitudes about voting for "blue dogs" or "conservative democrats", unfortunately there don't appear to be any.

Representative Purcy D. Walker (OK). Next question.

“Is this just your opinion or do you have evidence?”

We have as evidence everything Sarah has said, voted for or done these many years. That should suffice.

THANK U
The problem is, people are NOT giving this woman enough damn credit. Just watch, July 26th is her Independence Day, she is gonna come out and throw these clowns out one by one. They are TERRIFIED of her, just like they were terrified of Ronald Reagan. All the words that were used to describe Sarah, I’ve heard it all before, they were the same words to describe Ronald Wilson Reagan “Braindead” “Stupid” “Idiot” same garbage, just a different era. I think she is following the Reagan model. She is very close to the Reagan family, especially Michael Reagan, I think he is giving her advice. She is playing it smart, she knows EXACTLY what she is doing. In order to save the GOP, she has to threaten the GOP, that is the only way to scare them into doing something.
She is doing an intervention, the same you would do with a drug addict, bring him/her into a room and say “Either shape out or ship out” that is what Sarah is doing with the GOP, either wake up, or lose these voters

I guess that must be what GOP Lady was talking about. It certainly is something we are all aware of.

Conservatives will even have less power if they don't fight back for the soul of the GOP.

Or they peal off what were once called "Reagan Democrats", only this time more permanently.

The Old Order is no longer serving the country. It must change.

But it may be too late, given that the Obamanites are not likely to give up power easily. If The One didn't care to observe the Constitution before he was elected, why would anyone expect him to follow it after he has his hands on the reigns of power?
