Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

They were joined by five new pro-life Democrats.
Again, I say, there is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat. They lied to gain their seats. The Democrat party is the party of death. They are more than pro-choice—they are PRO-ABORTION!!

Trust me, I’ve worked on the inside for many years.

Its easy enough to look up the actual voting records of every congressman and congresswoman to see how they actually voted on pro-life issues.

Romney is a Democrat with an “R” after his name. He’s McCain with slicker hair.

Based on this article, IMO, Palin isn’t crazy, as the media would have everyone believe. She is, however, crazy like a fox, which, of course, is a good thing. :-)

Stumping to keep Obama’s veto proof majority? Wonderful.

She's building a values and ideas movement that America has been waiting for. When did you of all people become obtuse? We saw what good a Republican majority did. Now we want a conservative majority.

BEST picture I’ve ever seen of her... Brains, cajunes, beauty, and oh-so-photogenic

Those aren't "cajones," darling. That's the instincts of the she-warrior.

Never trust a Democrat, Governor.

Nor McCain, nor eighty percent of Republican office holders.

The Republican party is dead as a national organization, and I hope SP and her people know it. The sooner the GOP is given a decent burial, the sooner we can get started.

It's easier to rebuild common sense conservatism from the party and place where most common sense conservatives reside. You would disagree? What would Ronald Reagan think? What did Ronald Reagan do?

The opinion that we should "bury the Republican party" and the opinion that "the Republican Party can do no wrong" I believe are opinions that represent two sides of the same coin. The first opinion is partisan in its hate for the Republican party regardless of how reckless that hate is while the second opinion is partisan for its unconditional love of the Republican party regardless of how damaging that could be. In both cases, it's only the "R" that seems to matter.

I believe the best place to start building a common sense conservative coalition is the same place where most of that coalition currently resides. That place happens to be the Republican party.

Look critics of this strategy-what do you fear?

!)Sarah will only support conservative Democrats who will vote in Congress the way she wants them to and of course they must prove to her that they are sincere

2)there are more conservatives in America than moderates or liberals. What about that don’t you understand-you do want a conservative govt in Washington-don’t you

3)And this is Sarah’s message to the RINO’s-become conservative or get out of the way

“Please explain to me how working to keep Democrats in the majority and Pelosi and Reid in their positions is a good tactic. I must be stupid because I don’t see it”

Palin has no intention of campaigning for liberal democrats. She is letting people know that conservatism comes first, republican second. Now the MSM is handcuffed, because Palin didn’t rule out Democrats. Very smart indeed!

“Peggy tries to show how unready Sarah is for the harsh realities...”

Yeah, but Peggy is ready for another drink.

Respectfully, I think you're missing the larger point. Irrespective of how Democrats describe themselves as conservative in some fashion or another, once they get to Congress, they don't vote that way, especially when it really counts.

What's more, is that those allegedly conservative Dems vote for, or caucus with, insanely liberal Committee chairman. That's what people don't seem to understand

Good points. There are no longer any conservative democrats I have heard of. No one has come up with a name in almost 300 posts.

She is gonna create her own party, sending a message to the Republican establishment “Either get with the program or lose these voters to the new Conservative Independent Party.” She is brilliant with this move. She is telling the GOP Establishment to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE. Will they listen, probably not. They are too set in their ways to care anymore

Because the economy is in the tank, and he's the one to help fix it. We need to get capital flowing so people can get jobs, and that's what he did at Bain Capital.

EEE, how in the hell did McCain, of all people, have the smarts to bring Sarah out of ALaska and into our homes down in in the lower 40? God Bless John McCain for this.

I have no idea, but there was another McCain tidbit that puzzled me as well.

During the 2000 presidential primaries, McCain actually did us a favor by pushing Bush to the right and making him more palpable to conservatives, IMO.

"Everyone bashed McCain and Bush for trying to reach out to like minded democrats. and I think the bashing was more justified than not. I think Sarah has been drinking McCain’s koolaid if she thinks this will work.

I trust Sarah, but I will never....never.... never trust a democrat politician.

never.

I WAS a Palin fan—no more. Palin must not understand how important it is for Republicans to gain a majority.

McCain taught her well in the few short months she was under his wing.....

You know.... reaching across the aisle. I guess that’s why she endorsed the former democrat Rick Perry in Texas. I believe Bob Dole and George Bush were good at reaching across the aisle also.

This economy is in dire shape at the moment, and it’s sad that so many people are losing their jobs.

Your theory could have some validity but we’ll see. On the surface, this looks like a very stupid move. I didn’t care about her resigning but this volunteering to stump for a conservative Democrat really makes a great big yellow flag go up.
