Washington Times Has Now Updated Title from "EXCLUSIVE: Palin to stump for conservative Democrats"

ANCHORAGE, Alaska | Brushing aside the criticisms of pundits and politicos, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she plans to jump immediately back into the national political fray — stumping for conservative issues and even Democrats — after she prematurely vacates her elected post at month's end.

The former Republican vice-presidential nominee and heroine to much of the GOP's base said in an interview she views the electorate as embattled and fatigued by nonstop partisanship, and she is eager to campaign for Republicans, independents and even Democrats who share her values on limited government, strong defense and "energy independence."

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said over lunch in her downtown office, 40 miles from her now-famous hometown of Wasilla — population 7,000 — where she began her political career.

He was until a couple of years ago. Democrat or Republican, we need more like him. That’s who Sarah Palin’s going to help campaign for.

And she’s changing the rules of the game.

Changing the rules of the game is one thing but changing the rules by which the Congress operates is entirely another. Most of the democrats or GOP members will tow the line on critical votes if it comes down to push/shove. The party leadership will basically exert enough pressure to hold them in line on critical votes.

The state and local governments maybe a different senario. In Texas for example the democrats are two members away from taking control of the state house [76-74 GOP]. The controls at the state levels is going to be important due to redistricting come up after the 2010 census. Giving the democrats control may well seal the fate in congress for a few years to come.

'Ever heard of Zell Miller?"

Yep. How many Senate elections did he stand for? Zip, nada, none. He was appointed to his office and voted his conscience precisely because he didn't have to appease any of the Democrat establishment or money men. I'm all for supporting those Democrats. Of course, those Democrats don't exist.

My thought also, ‘She is putting the Reagan coalition together again’....I don’t know but between fire them all and RINO/DINO hate as shown by the bi-partison teaparties...we may have the makings of the ‘Sunshine in America’ 3rd party here. I’m impressed with her utilization of some Sun Tzu strategy here!

I'm very qualified to judge. Whatever looks unlike me looks good!

Seriously, I think some people misunderstood my post. I support her, and think that Sarah Palin is a beautiful woman. There are plenty of unfaltering pictures of attractive people out there. The choices photo editors make determine how a celebrity comes off. The image in question is simple not the best sample of Palin’s look, that's all.

She lost weight....STRESS!

Hello Palin Koolaid drinker. If you think that was stress, being POTUS is probably 10 times as stressful and if she was stressed out, she is unqualified to be POTUS.

I seee one of my former RINO congressmen was in the news the other day about paying fines for campaign finance violations.

That SOB was defeated by a conservative republican so he immediately endorsed the next pure socialist democrat to come along.

You see, here is the disconnect; Some “Conservatives” are still wrapped up in the GOP vs Dems war, when in truth the American people are SICK of political party BS! It’s NOT GOP v DEM, it’s CONSERVATIVE v NON-CONSERVATIVE! Until you understand that, you will continue to be quite happy with a GOP that is AT BEST DEM light.

I don't care how a Democrat campaigns to their constituency, I care how they act in Congress - and all Democrats act like pro-abortion sycophants in DC.

Except the ones who don't.

NO! RINO means liberal Republican. What's more important to you? Conservative or Republican? Republican is just a party, not an ideology.

I'll take a CONSERVATIVE over a liberal Republican any day.

Don’t you love the haughty elitist way she tosses back her head, eyes in pensive retreat, and pauses dramatically as if the whole world is waiting with baited breath for her next utterance?

Perhaps that’s why she loves Obama since he’s copied her signature neck extensions. Those defiant upward chin stabs aren’t much different than doing the middle finger flip off.

The old saying it is easy to be generous when it doesnt cost you anything and this is free because there are not any conservative democrats.

Yup. It is my hope and guess that that is her strategy.

"That's not true. My dad is a Conservative Democrat of the Truman mold. "

The comment was directed at Democrat office holders, and specifically Congressman and Senators.

I'm sure that there's millions of registered Democrats that are conservative, and probably even vote Republican.

Any references to what she considers ‘conservative’?

That’s the worst picture of Palin I’ve ever seen.

True.

But I'd still hit it.

Ridiculous. First, there's no such thing as a conservative democrat, period.

The Democrats she’d support would be the sort that would never side with Obama.

I know there are many of you out there who get nervous when I come around because I point out that you are a populist masquerading as a conservative.
