Sarah Palin is that most exotic of American creatures: an Alaska original, raised and ripened in an environment remote, extreme, unfamiliar and free. A land of self-invention, where no one bats an eye at a mom-deckhand-governor-whatever-comes-next. Ever since John McCain introduced his running mate last year, Palin has been like a modern-day version of the captive specimens hauled back to Europe by explorers of old. Like Squanto in London, she speaks the language if not always the idiom of the audiences she fascinates. But she remains, on some level, unknowable.
~snip
Whether that is true or not, Palin's unconventional step speaks to an ingrained frontier skepticism of authority even one's own. Given the plunging credibility of institutions and élites, that's a mood that fits the Palin brand. Résumés ain't what they used to be; they count only with people who trust credentials a dwindling breed. The mathematics Ph.D.s who dreamed up economy-killing derivatives have pretty impressive résumés. The leaders of congressional committees and executive agencies have decades of experience at wallowing in red ink, mismanaging economic bubbles and botching covert intelligence.

If you look past one or two biased points at the TIME article (such as critizing the style of her resingation statement), there are some interesting points in the article.

Probably not anywhere that’s hard or has a long commitment time.

I’m with you! No fan of TIME but even a blind sow finds an acorn when it’s right under their nose. Maybe even the libtards at TIME realize the potential of what even they see as a true pioneering woman representes in the age of, as they put it, “plunging credibility of institutions and elites”.
Time will tell, with apologies for the pun...

I sent her PAC $ last night figuring that my way of helping is to give her this ammunition - and also to let her know I’m with her.

I don’t care how the article reads. I won’t click on the Time site to give them the traffic. That’s the only reason they did the article-to attempt to bolster their dying DNC talking point publication.

She looks so good-maybe a little thinner than normal, but still so positive and upbeat.
I have a really, really good feeling about the future when I look at her.
I skimmed through the article and I never cease to be amazed at how the left is always so befuddled and and dumbfounded by ideas-and people-who are so popular despite the fact they are 180 degrees removed from anything they know to be gospel.
(IOW...Why in the world would anyone believe in God,life, liberty, freedom, capitalism, etc.?)
Funny....they just don't get it,and never will.

LOL!! 'Time' will tell is hilarious as a pun! Gosh I hope there is a inkling of pure truth running through their speculation...I LOVED the picture of her, I am absolutely entralled with the grit of this woman.
And as a woman I find her simply THE most interesting and probably capable woman to arrive on the political scene since Margaret Thatcher (with a noble nod to Condi, of course!).

The article talked about “the strange ramblings of her televised resignation speech”. I didn’t think her resignation speech was strange or rambling. I thought it was a moving heartfelt description of how she is being targeted and how she is a team player.

So? I don't live in Alaska.
Sandy was your favorite and you even made excuses for him after the scandal broke.

Sarah's a normal person. She just seems strange to these reporters because our whole culture has become bent at the "top" and the people running the Establishment are no longer in touch with reality.
They do manage to print some truthful stuff here, even though they can't begin to understand it.
For instance, they report what Sarah tells them about the lawsuits and the media:
She asserts that if people were shocked by her decision, it was because the media haven't covered the real story. "We have sat down with reporters, showed them proof of the frivolity, the wastefulness, you know, millions of dollars this is costing our state to fight frivolous charges. And countless, countless hours from my staff, our Department of Law, from me, every single day, just trying to set the record straight and it doesn't cost the adversaries a dime."
Asserts? No, she tells the factual truth, and at least they report it, even though they won't admit that they understand it.
