The thing is, Letterman has already overstepped with regards to Palin and should tread lightly. His top ten list and monologue jokes could have easily been written to tease someone else. I’ll bet big money that he hasn’t ripped Biden or Zerobama in a similar fashion.
He’s a partisan hack and doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt until he’s earned it by mocking the left in the same way he’s gone after those on the right.
OK, #8 was a bit funny, but at Sanford’s expense.
The rest aren’t even jokes. Or they’re the jokes of a 7-year-old old. Really: the dry cleaner?
If I misread your intent - sorry.
Actually, I think they are pretty fun, come on folks, lighten up.
Hello, it’s Letterman, we still cool ....
Very funny
See post 26. I am not offended. I just feel he should lay off her. If it was one joke, ok. A whole top ten list and several jokes in the monologue to me is a bit much and just shows that the guy will never learn his lesson and that someone must have held a gun to his head to get him to apologize.
I posted the whole list because it was posted on his site and to spare anyone who can’t stand the guy from having to watch him .
The HATE Show with David Bitterman.
He hates Sarah because he obviously never got the good looking girl. Take a look at the GUY he married haha. I hope the boy isn’t heckled because he is a BASTARD haha.
Adding the “haha” makes it comedy and immune from criticism.
What’s the big deal? Are we now professional outrage artists like the left?
Seems to be mostly silly stuff. Nothing degrading — and actually is kind of the sort of “tough satire” that the comics use against their hero Obama. Nothing funny, nothing offensive either.
He was definitely over the line with the previous vicious attacks. But this is nothing.
What "benefit of the doubt"? Is Gov Palin now some type of untouchable? Get a grip!
And, just so that you know what my position is on Letterman's attacks on her kids was - you can read my opinion here: David Letterman - Stalker & Extortionist.
Lawler versus Kaufman was funny.
Now THAT’s funny! Perfectly encapsulates Dave Letterman’s view of things.
And drop they will ... as soon as the newness of this “controversy” wears off.
Who pays this pervert to spew his venom ?
Lettermanic: when you screw up big time, blow the apology even worse, and then continue attacking again because everything’s ‘cool’ now.
okay - sorry then -
but
he, and others will not lay off until she is out of the spotlight!
As long as he “behaves” - I see no need to worry about him, or his ilk.
IMHO - the standard should be Carson - he managed to do the job without bending the rules too far.
Gotta agree on both counts.
When comediens stop making fun of people, they loose their job.
If that list had been about Algore or FatazzMichealMoore we would be laughing.
I agree, if his jokes seem un-funny or offensive its because we don’t like them. There are just as many people on the other side that find them hillarious. He’s telling the jokes to them, not us.
I also agree that Palin has had more than her share but there are a higher percentage of liberal comedians so....
