Palin's Popularity in GOP Soars After Quitting
Cleveland Leader ^ | Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Posted on 07/08/2009 8:13:03 AM PDT by kristinn

Apparently Sarah Palin's decision to quit her post as Governor of Alaska wasn't as misguided as it sounded at first, because it has certainly already begun to work it's magic on winning over the Republican party. According to a new USA Today/Gallup Poll, her popularity has surged amongst Republicans since she made the announcement.

71 percent of Republicans said they would vote for Palin if she ran for president in 2012, and three-fourths believe that Palin has been treated unfairly by the media.

Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure" in the future, while three-fourths of Democrats are hoping that she won't be. Independents by 55%-34% would prefer she leave the national stage.

Would you be willing to pay twice your gross annual salary for the priviledge of working, year after year?

You've had some very patient and kind people explain Sarah's decision to you, so clearly that any six-year-old could understand. I believe you clearly understand, and that you are spamming your anti-Palin rhetoric because you have loyalties to something other than conservative issues.

Tell us, what elitist snob would you prefer to see trying to rally opposition to the communists currently in power?

you are clearly to dense to answer

You argue like a liberal - whip out insults instead of a civil discussion. I'm done with this. Have the last word and insult away.

I am glad you won our difference of opinion.

Dude! We are both winners in the Palin sweepstakes... :)

That’s what it is - you nailed it.
You’re either with the elitists, or you prefer individualism.

There is no neutrality here. Something about SP prevents that option.

Hope that you wake up soon. There will NEVER be a strong third party.

To me a strong third party was all of those tea parties.

You have been insulting Sarah Palin since you hit this thread. And for your information, I’m no liberal. I will however, defend a gem like Sarah Palin no matter what I’m called. Discussion over. CO

I once heard from a caller on the Sean Hannity Show that Sarah Palin’s good look is why leftist women hate her because they are not as attractive. It is jealousy.

I just loved that Fox News interview clip with Sarah pulling in the nets while answering questions. What the Dems hate is that the scenes are REAL -- she and Todd have been fishing that area year after year.

The DC/NY people who can't identify with Sarah are outnumbered 20 to 1 by the rest of the people who can. She and/or we won't win them all over, but I strongly believe she can rally a very healthy majority.

SP’s authenticity is another thing that drives the left nuts.

They KNOW they can’t be authentic and speak from their core values, or 90% of the public would reject them.

They also know that, by comparison to SP, their attempts to hide their core values becomes obvious.

Penn is a conservative, isn’t he? And that gif has been around for YEARS, long before Sarah hit the scene last summer.

The fact that the establishmedia hates her is good enough for most Conservatives.

Pray for America and Gov Palin

Oh, cry me a river! And she'll have NO lawsuits if she's Prez???? Bill Clinton showed us you can be Prez and be sued. With Palin, it will only get worse.

Idiots in the press (left-wing hate bloggers) were behind the nuisance lawsuits.

The answer is NOT to resign, but to have serious "loser-pays" penalties in place -- tough enough to discourage this kind of idiotic hate mongering.

You are refusing to look at this logically.

She and her staff were spending 80% of her/their time dealing with these bogus, false ethic charges.

Furthermore, she is limited by her own budget as to how many people she can hire and the resources she can apply to this issue. She does not have an infinite number of people to handle this.

And finally, with regards to your suggestion concerning "loser-pays", she is the Chief Executive, not the legislative branch.

She does not have the power to wave her magic wand to create a new law.

While your idea has merit, it has no value right now, and given the animus that the GOP has for her in Alaska, there is no way that Law or anything like it was going to get passed during the remainder of her term.

She had no other option, if she wanted to continue to be effective in the GOP both in Alaska and the Nation at large.
