Apparently Sarah Palin's decision to quit her post as Governor of Alaska wasn't as misguided as it sounded at first, because it has certainly already begun to work it's magic on winning over the Republican party. According to a new USA Today/Gallup Poll, her popularity has surged amongst Republicans since she made the announcement.
71 percent of Republicans said they would vote for Palin if she ran for president in 2012, and three-fourths believe that Palin has been treated unfairly by the media.
Two-thirds of Republicans want Palin to be "a major national political figure" in the future, while three-fourths of Democrats are hoping that she won't be. Independents by 55%-34% would prefer she leave the national stage.
From Sarah’s twitterberry: “Today, try this: “Act in accordance to your conscience -risk- by pursuing larger vision in opposition to popular, powerful pressure”-unknown”
That would be a huge mistake and she is too smart to do that.
He sits there on his throne but the crowd down below is getting smaller. The old school guys do not get todays’ politics. It’s the main reason a piece of crap like Obama managed to get elected.. No one had a clue as to what he was doing or how to fight it.They hold our side to the old school rules, while the other side plays by their own rules.People like Krauthammer and other experts of his ilk are clueless. Politics 2009 has passed them all by. They know not what they speak. The first one on our side who gets it is Palin.
What? You don't like to mix it up with the Palin haters? It's a lot of fun. Kinda like being the only Global Warming denier in a group of members of the Church of What's Happening Now. ;o)
From: NurdlyPeon-So shes a quitter, huh? Well let me ask you a question: Have you ever told a lie in you entire life? Even one? Have you ever stolen anything in your entire life? Anything? (Hint, the only person who can answer no to both those questions died about 2000 years ago.) So, since you have lied, you are a liar. And since you have probably stolen, you are a thief. So, here we have a liar and a thief (thats you) calling Sarah a quitter. Do you get the idea of what I am trying to say here? You are taking one incident that is technically true (yes, she did quit her job) and trying to turn that into a broad characterization of an entire person. But, Ill tell you what I will do for you. Ill admit to Sarah being a quitter, if youll admit to being a liar and a thief. Fair enough?
Oh yeah! But time is precious, and that's a way to cut through the first few rounds of ring dancing and get right to the slugfest.
Kraut is like the fool who sat next to his master in feudal times waiting to be patted on the head and tossed a bone to eat.
He gets to sit on stage with the real people and asked questions. How exciting it must be.
I bet that’s making some heads explode.
I think it was always about trying to force her out. The pathetic elites only want other pathetic elites.
*snort*
Very, very bad idea. That would be a sure loser.
You obviously neither read the transcript of her statement, nor watched the video. She resigned her office because of the nuisance LAWSUITS, stemming from bogus ethical complaints. Those lawsuits, to which she had no choice but to respond, were aimed at her as Governor, which meant that she, and her staff had to spend valuable JOB TIME to gather information for the lawyers who defended the Office. Since her time, and that of her staff, is paid for by the taxpayers of AK, that money was going down the drain, rather than into ideas for positive growth for the state.
THIS is the reason she resigned the office, and turned it over to her Lt. Gov, who was elected by the people, along with Sarah, for specific reasons. The ideas for which they were elected will continue to inform the new Governor, and the things they supported will be continued to fruition. She said she'd completed much of the things for which she was elected, but the Lt. Gov. would carry on in the same vein in which she was working, and he wouldn't be subject to the lawsuits, because they were aimed at HER,PERSONALLY! She didn't start having these complaints and lawsuits filed against her until she was picked for Veep, at which time her enemies in the state saw an opportunity to destroy her both politically and monetarily.
As for the press being mean to her, up to this point, she's taken what they've handed out, without whining, nor asking for apologies. I think she'll be responding more to that when she's a private citizen. Her legal team has already put folks on notice that if they continue to slander and libel her, once she's not a public office holder, that action WILL be taken against them. As of July 27th, she's taking this fight on the road, and I suspect those who have discounted her up til now won't know what hit them.
Do really want to lose the next election?.
"Retreat Hell! We're just attacking in another direction." (Attributed to Major General Oliver P. Smith, USMC, Korea, December 1950.)
Bump for later reading
Tell me that you really do not believe this. Just suppose someone like Palin was the current President. Can you really say there would not be a difference?
????
Now they will be singing, “A third party is sure bet to doom, loss, it can't work, it's all wrong, we have to vote “R”, or the sky will fall blah, blah, blah’.
I learned my lesson. I am never, never, never going to consider another vote for anyone other than a true conservative.
Go ahead and hang your hat, it will be taken care of very well.
Yep, some dumb woman was lauding Palin and Romney in the same breath on Rush the other day. I was screaming at the radio. My son was laughing. *Sigh*
So... 29% of Republicans prefer Obama to Palin?
On what grounds do they call themselves Republican?
There is more than one Colin Powell out there?
Sorry. Not buyin it.
Nothing in the article supports your contention that 29% of Republicans support Obama.
Nor does this article supprot your contention.

In fact I haven't yet found the full list of the poll questions.
I take it to mean that 29% of Republicans have another candidate in mind, not that they support Obama.
