Media Ignores Obama’s Falling Polls
Live Leak ^ | 7/7/09

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell Monday demanded that the so-called mainstream media accurately report the facts about President Barack Obama’s plunging poll numbers. ********************************************************* ********************************************************* Media Research Center President Brent Bozell Monday demanded that the so-called mainstream media accurately report the facts about President Barack Obama’s plunging poll numbers.

Bozell urged the nation’s liberal newspapers and TV networks to point out the fact that Americans are growing vastly more conservative as voter approval ratings tank to their lowest levels for the most radically liberal President in our nation’s history.

[Editor’s Note: See “Rasmussen Poll: Obama’s Popularity Plunging:” — Go here now.]

Bozell pointed to two recent major findings by the nation’s two leading polling organizations:

# Gallup – “Americans, by a 2-to-1 margin, say their political views in recent years have become more conservative rather than more liberal, 39% to 18%.” In fact, Gallup also cites that “more members of all three major partisan groups indicate that their views have shifted to the right rather than to the left,” in addition to reporting last month that “40% of Americans call themselves conservative,” the highest level since 2004.

# Rasmussen – Simultaneously, President Obama’s disapproval rating on the economy – his key issue which swallowed $787 billion – has reached a new high. Rasmussen reports 56% of Americans rate Obama fair or poor on the economy compared to the 50% who disapproved of his economic policies just a week ago.

“The media are obsessed with polling and public opinion data – unless, of course, it goes against their narrative,” Bozell said. “The cause and effect is clear: the more America learns about Obama’s radical agenda, the more they are galloping in the other direction. \

“But do we really expect the left-wing media to report this? This is the same media who just last week failed to ask what happened to Obama’s billion-dollar ‘stimulus’ bill in reporting the highest unemployment rate since 1983,” Bozell said. “Incoming memo to the GOP: Set a torch to that big tent of yours. People are flocking from liberals’ failing policy and ideals.” http://www.newsmax.com/insidec.. (Link)

Just goes to show how ignorant people are. Now they claim to be more conservative, although they chose the most liberal guy running.

“Bozell urged the nation’s liberal newspapers and TV networks to point out the fact that Americans are growing vastly more conservative as voter approval ratings tank to their lowest levels for the most radically liberal President in our nation’s history.”

While most of this is true (I’m not sold on the “Americans are growig vastly more conservative” part), the tenor of the message is clearly too out of step with the state-run media party line.

But you know that these numbers for George Bush, and the trend, would have been lead story at least 3 days out of 5.

People had a choice of Obama who ran around sounding like a conservatve....or John McCain who ran around sounding like a clueless old man who was unable to decide if he was a democrat or republican.

Go figure?

“Obama who ran around sounding like a conservatve”
+++++++++++

I disagree. Oblahblah, said ‘hope’ and ‘change’ about 5 billion times, took all the money in through his website possible, including illegal money for which he was never investigated, disregarded all his radical associations, for which he was barely brought to task.

Then this do nothing, no one, got elected. I beg to differ that he sounded like a conservative.

But I agree, that McCain was a weak presidential candidate.

I mildly approve of Obama but only in the sense that he seems to be completely destroying the Democrat's chances for the next three or four election cycles.

The only solution I see is surgical air strikes on corporate headquarters of NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and a few choice newspapers.

I think it is true that most Americans are conservative in their beliefs. The problem is that many if not most, do not pay much attention to politics, so they believed it when the liberal media told them Obama is a JFK style “moderate” and McCain was some creepy old GWB clone. Now that Obama is showing who he really is to such a degree that even the MSM can't airbrush him anymore, his poll numbers are dropping hard and fast.

+++++++++++++++

But also to be fair, let’s see if they ever lead with that story (as someone above suggested), vs. putting it on their ticker (so they can claim objectivity.)

Of course the state run media won't report how bad 0’s polling is, it goes against the template that its all rainbows and unicorns because the One was elected. Liberals aren't going to crucify their messiah just yet.

I'd be curious to see how 0’s numbers compare against W's numbers at this point in their presidencies. I betcha W had comparable or better numbers then Odumbo.

I wonder what will happen when his numbers really start to sink. I don’t think he’s ever, in his life, had to deal with disapproval. I don’t know if his ego can take it. I think it will take him by surprise and be shattering. He could really become unstable.

It may come to that if that’s what it takes to get the state run media off the air.

You are wrong. He talked tax cuts, unity, he spoke different things according to what venue he was speaking to.

The word went out to all he was a centrist like Clinton. People believed he was going to be like Clinton. Not great... but not to bad and sporting a good economy too.

If you pay attention, this is the secret to dem wins. All the while the dumba$$es in the GOP run around acting like democrat-lite. The dems decided they would win by campaigning as though they were for what conservatives are for. They won back the Reagan RATs by doing that in many states. Then the supposed conservative democrats act like reluctant virgins when a vote on a leftist bill comes up. Why do you think Pelosi lets them jump ship on key bills like that? It was the GOP folks that allowed Cap and Trade. Geesh

But...what the GOP does not own is the media. That can’t be discounted at all.
