Thunderous Okla. Applause Greets Bush on July 4
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: July 4, 2009
WOODWARD, Okla. (AP) -- Former President George W. Bush spoke amid thunderous applause in a rural Oklahoma town to celebrate the Fourth of July, calling the U.S. the ''greatest nation on the face of the earth.''
Bush was given six standing ovations as he spoke Saturday inside a remodeled rodeo arena in Woodward, a town of about 12,000 residents in northwest Oklahoma. About 9,200 tickets were sold for the event, which would be the biggest crowd for Bush since he left office in January.
Bush spoke of the bravery of injured soldiers he'd met throughout his presidency, and thanked members of the military for their service. He also thanked spectators for giving ''a retired guy something to do.''
Bush has turned up in a handful of out-of-the-way places since leaving office.

“, calling the U.S. the ‘’greatest nation on the face of the earth.’’ “
Obama fears he’d burst into flames uttering such words.

Happy Fourth of July good news ping!
You couldn't get his successor to say those eight words, ever. Unless he were talking about Indonesia or Pocky-ston.
The fact is, the economy was in pretty good shape until January of 2007 when Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and their merry band of socialists took over Congress.
Bless you, STARWISE :)
I choose to only think of this man and his lady on our Independence Day and not the Destroyer of America and his Beast that currently occupy the White House.
Thanks! Channel 9 just said the same thing. The local news also talked about the Tea Party at the Capitol.

Needed to see this one again.
This Okie appreciates Bush’ patriotism, and his desire to keep this country safe.
The NY Times actually admitted the THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE — is hell freezing over?!
BTW: The organizers indicated that 14,000 ENTHUSIASTIC supporters attended this event — the MSM is still busy under-reporting Republican crowds and over-inflating Democrat crowds (and polling results for that matters)!!
The President (yes, he’s still my president) and Laura look AWESOME — relaxed and re-energized!
Population 12,000 — 9,200 tickets sold; wow, that’s practically the whole town!
Gosh, I miss him!
