Washington, DC -- President Barack Obama has named Douglas Kmiec, the Pepperdine University law professor who has become a key impediment to pro-life Catholics as the ambassador to Malta. The move is sure to spark opposition in Catholic circles given Malta's strongly pro-life stance.

That’s a very strange career advancement. What, do they need to promote more liberal abortion policies in Malta???
This is an insult to Catholics.
I knew the POS wanted something I thought it would be a court appointment.
I hope he’s miserable.
I gotta agree. Since he’s unlikely to find very many liberal Catholics there, he’ll probably be drinking with the flies, as the Aussies say. Serve him right.
Why [Doug], it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world... but for [Malta]?

“Did we call it on this forum, or what?”
Yes, indeed. Kmiec gets what he wanted, over the bodies of 50 million babies.
The CINOs have already split in their own minds. What we can do for them is pray and pray and pray.
The REAL Catholics will not be split.
I’ve been saying that a couple of weeks — my prediction —
No Obama photo with the Pope.
wouldn’t we all be amazed if that is how the photo actually came out?
Far, far less significant.
I might be a tad prejudiced - I'm Welsh on both sides, in several lines of descent.
My maternal grandmother was a Griffin. You don’t get much more Welsh than that (except for Jones and Williams).
Obama rewards those who blaspheme the Church.
Well, I guess no one should actually be shocked...
According to Whispers in the Loggia, the report on Obama’s meeting with the Catholic press in Avennire, a paper with some kind of relationship with the Italian Bishops’ Conference is entitled;
(Obama) Collaborating With the Pope for a Better World
Someone - maybe the Nuncio or one of our rocket scientist American Cardinals should clue someone in over at the Vatican that this “benefit of the doubt” approach to pro-abortionists inside and outside the Church and the Vatican press’ (Osservatore and now Avennire) slobbering love affair with this pro-abortion President is getting pretty damn old pretty damn fast.
Along with a reminder that is is CONSERVATIVE Catholics, not CINOs, who pay the bills HERE and OVER THERE.
That’s about to stop at our house - and my guess is we’re not alone.
If all we get from the July 10 meeting - and notice how quickly and gladly the Vatican changed the Pope’s schedule to accomodate The Most Majestic Obama - are photographs of smiles and platitudinous crap about fruitful collaboration on matters of mutual interest, with no straightforward and unambiguous statement on the life issues about which Obama is in serious error, B XVI’s stock will plummet at this address and elsewhere too I’m sure.

(My apologies to those who already joined this thread.)
It’s kind of been covered, but I’m ready to say, “What a FReepin slimball,” again, just for luck.
