Sotomayor boasts of her admission to Ivy League schools based on the politics of race and ethnicity, not qualifications or competence. Affirmative action is, of course, an invidious system which discriminates against those who are not in the favored category whether based on race, gender or ethnicity. This is an obvious unconstitutional injustice. But what makes it an astonishingly egregious wrong here is that we are not talking about the hiring of a postal clerk but a justice of the Supreme Court of the United States who rejects the "equal protection" clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as well as an array of civil rights legislation that assures equality of opportunity, NOT outcome. By the way, what's not as much mentioned is that these "affirmative action fakers" are often "pushed through" schools even when they can't cut it academically as students.

So she skated through high school and got into Yale based on her race and some poor white guy who worked his ass off during high school to get a 4.0 GPA and score high on the SAT was rejected and had to go to some less prestigious school.
Where is the "empathy" for the poor slob who's spot she took?

I expect this is the reason Obama won't open his school records-- it would be obvious that he stole some more-qualified applicant's seat thanks to the racialist mau-mauing we are pleased to call "affirmative action."
If I were a well-qualified minority applicant, I would really resent the charity cases whose low standards reflected poorly on me as well.

When I think of Affirmative Action I have to wonder, what cures for diseases or inventions were lost due to the likes of Sotomayor knocking a more qualified person out of their spot?

I was not academically qualified for Princeton or Yale and was accepted, despite low test scores, because of affirmative action.Wow. What a scumbag.

Right Soto Mayor, you are a product of Affirmative Action - the discredited policy of achieving racial equality by advancing unqualified or less qualified candidates over white candidates, generally males.
But we simply can't afford an affirmative action Supreme Court, despite what our affirmative action President thinks.

Anyone who was not aware of this is flat out stupid or just not paying attention.
The vast majority of minority students (non-asian) at top rated universities are far below the normal entrance requirements. And many of them are NOT from disadvantage backgrounds.
I went to high school with a minority student who got into Yale (with a 1000 SAT score) even though his father was a doctor and his mother an elementary school principle. He wasn't disadvantaged at all. But Yale didn't care about that. They just wanted quotas.

That’s unfortunate. She is a product of affirmative action which I wouldn’t brag about. How do we know that being such a person she wasn’t pushed up the ladder with better grades than she deserved and is she really smart. Her speech, manners and decisions suggest otherwise.

No, no, no. You are all missing the point. Didn't you hear? She told us the tests she scored poorly on where racially biased against her. The implication being that had those dastardly tests not been racially biased against her she would have scores commensurate with her peers. ITS THE TEST'S FAULT!

So far I’ve never ran across a quota boy who was as good at their job as a non quota boy doing the same job.
Affirmative action and quotas are b.s. and little more than reverse discrimination. Also a great way to divide the populace.
