I was not academically qualified for Princeton or Yale and was accepted, despite low test scores, because of affirmative action.

No doubt.
Good observations. Most people would try to conceal the fact that they were advanced due to racial or ethnic preferences over others with more ability but she does brag about it. An old clerical mentor once told me that the only thing worse than an egotistical person is an egotist WITH NO ABILITY!
So far I’ve never ran across a quota boy who was as good at their job as a non quota boy doing the same job.
Affirmative action and quotas are b.s. and little more than reverse discrimination. Also a great way to divide the populace.
See my post #39. The Bakke case, which went to the Supreme Court, was the most notorious.
See my post “How Crusading for Diversity Has Corrupted American Journalism,” 6/30, to read about the horrors of an affirmative action doctor.
Affirmative action is absolutely no guarantee that the person has the ability to work in a job that may be over their head. I believe this is the case with Sotamayor and Obama. Neither has the ability to lead or think anything through nor do they think to include what may be right for the people. They are so locked into their personal self motivated mind sets; it would be impossible for them to be fair. I would venture a guess this is true with our Congress. They do not have any principles or foundation or real issues because they are not concerned with them.
They also think taking the line of least resistance is the answer. But it’s an uphill battle which they will eventually lose because they are incapable of doing the right thing for all of the people. They just don’t have a concept of reality.
Right - and what makes a bad situation even worse is that many employers won’t terminate an incompetent minority employee for fear of a discrimination law suit. It’s a self-perpetuating injustice.

Absolutely. It’s clearly a case of putting narrow self-interest ahead of what is a matter of constitutional law and a great American ideal: equality of opportunity without regard to race, ethnicity, gender or class. Violating the law under the pretext of making up for a past injustice is like what most parents tell a little kid - two wrongs don’t make something right!
I agree. Also, it seems that Obama issue of a wrong has nothing to do with black Americans or any other Americans; rather a personal experience that was taught and told to him through the years by radicals who had an agenda that clearly states “destroy America”. It is embarrasing and painful to watch Obama and his wife through their own weaknesses ignore protcal and actually snub in public those they clearly hate because of their naive beliefs. It is clear they are not leaders; but rather puppets and it is clear they should not hold the positions they hold. The ugly truth is America has a President who is not a leader; but a man of personal revenge.
I would state it differently:
Preferential treatment should be earned on the basis of superior performance. All other considerations pale in comparison.
What kind of person brags about cutting in line?
No way this person is qualified for the SCOTUS.
Hard to believe.
Sounds like our first affirmative action President.
Seems she always needs a crutch to lean on.
LOL!...and many thought Harriet Myers would be a bad choice. Their heads should be exploding at the thought of this racist, sexist clown on the court. Any critic worth their analysis should be coming out of the woodwork against this IDIOT!
I worry about the qualifications of the doctor who is about to do surgery on me...
Sonia QUOTAmayor.
Feh. He's an "Anglo".
