Go get 'em Juan!
Local | July 1, 2009 | From The Deer Stand

Juan Williams, filling in for Bill O'Reilly, was doing a great job mincing Bill Burton, Obama's Deputy Press Secretary. Juan didn't let him get away with the "no new taxes" pledge that Obama may violate, called him out on increased taxes, called him out on Obama requiring homeowners to bring their homes up to energy standards before a home sale, and made Burton tread water on other issues. For being a Liberal, Juan sounded more like O'Reilly tonight - at least in that segment. Catch the video when one is on the Internet.

Juan tries and seems to be a good guy.

For a liberal Juan is doing a good job. Let’s see what he does to Alan.

Juan is a realistic liberal.
Juan is worried that Obama is going too far, and that Obama will ignite a conservative backlash.

Stunning. Obama needs to worry if stuff like this is coming out of Juan’s mouth.

When I saw Juan Williams subbing for O’Reilly I immediately changed the channel.

I was listening to this on XM radio in my car and I was amazed at the questions he was asking Bill Burton. I think he was harder on him than BOR would have been himself.

Juan is usually much more of a Lib: there are times when I just want to reach through the TV screen and slap him! example: when he recounted how he cried at Bam’s acceptance speech in Denver.
But I heard this exchange too...and I couldn’t believe it. Must be that as a sub, he felt he had to be more like BOR.
Of course, Beaver Burton is such an idiot that who wouldn’t want to challenge him?

Juan's actually reasonably politically moderate. Here's an interview he did with FrontPage Magazine, talking about his place on the political spectrum.

“Juan is worried that Obama is going too far, and that Obama will ignite a conservative backlash.”

I want Juan’s worst nightmare to become reality.

I'd watch a Juan Williams program before I'd watch a Bill O'Reilly program.

I also changed the channel but I do think Juan is a decent guy. I think he plays the ultra-lib on Sunday’s Fox show because he’s the best they can do. I never got the impression that he was a big O supporter.

Unlike most Libs, Juan Williams has a functional brain and actually uses it.

Juan is a liberal who I do not dislike.

I have a sense that he is a good person who says some incredibly obtuse things when defending the liberal line.

His son is a conservative, so I’m thinking he is probably a good father as well.

No doubt Juan is a lefty but he’s reasonable and a decent guy. I enjoy when he is in a conversation. He can present the other side’s point of view without the I-hate-America vibe all over so much of what they do.
