Seventy-two years ago Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger visited El Paso, Texas, delivered a speech proclaiming the need for the acceptance of birth control and helped found the city's first family planning clinic.

But last week, Analinda Moreno, Planned Parenthood of El Paso's interim executive director, announced all seven of the organization's clinics in the El Paso area would permanently close today. She cited financial reasons.

"There were many factors that came into the decision," Moreno told the El Paso Times. "We knew eight days ago that there was just absolutely no other way other than to close."

Rita Diller, national director of the American Life League's Stop Planned Parenthood project, was encouraged by the closings, and sees them as part of a larger trend.

"We expect many more closures in the days to come as people become aware of Planned Parenthood's sex-crazed birth control and abortion business," Diller said in a statement. "One by one, with hard work and prayer, these facilities are closing down, no matter how entrenched Planned Parenthood may seem to be in a particular community."

I’m sure they’ll get a bailout.

How long before a Senator stands up in the Senate and screams:

“Disadvantaged women are unable to abort their children with the ease and efficiency that they are used to! This will not stand in the United States of America!”

Unfortunately, I think this is more about El Paso than PP. El Paso is a dirt poor border town. PP is exiting this market only because there’s not enough money for them there.

Dear God,
Thank you for closing those doors. Please help us down here. We are being lead by some evil people. We ask that You stop them from harming our country more. Open the eyes of mislead and ignorant people. Thank You.
Amen.

Yep, these are tough times for an abortion industry serving a population which is becoming increasingly pro-life, thanks to the younger generations who aren't as thrilled with the idea of offing kids for the sake of convenience the way their me-generation moms & grandmas were - probably because they intuitively understand that, but for sheer luck, they could very well have ended up under an abortionist's knife themselves. It's amazing how fast that old "There but for the grace of God go I" realization can offer instant moral clarity on contentious issues, isn't it?

Those declining demographics also means that so many of these PP 'clinics' have become archaic vestiges of now-obsolete political symbolism - they haven't served a quantifiably useful purpose to patients in many of their service areas in eons, but the employees & their political patrons kept gouging the taxpayers & non-profit foundations to keep these useless enterprises afloat in the abstract name of "choice" nonetheless.

With budget cutters facing the prospect of restricting funding to other semi-public agencies & other NGO's & non-profits which actually do provide legitimate services to their communities, it's high time these parasitic dinosaurs got the axe.

Maybe the rotten economy will finally do what we in the pro-life community have been trying to accomplish for years & shut these phony political monuments to eugenics currently masquerading as health facilities down for good.

You bet. Just think how many human babies will get to live due to this event. Babies don’t get to pick their parents or where they are born. But they are still Human lives. Glad these locations are closed. God does work in mysterious ways.
