All eyes will be on Chief Denver District Judge Larry Naves on Wednesday as he takes arguments at an all-day hearing for and against giving ousted professor Ward Churchill his job back at the University of Colorado.
The hearing is the culmination of a lengthy dispute between CU and the controversial professor, who was fired two years ago.
The judge has the option of ruling from the bench at the end of the hearing or issuing a written decision later. Neither the judges clerk nor the attorneys in the case would hazard a guess as to when Naves might announce his decision.

I'm not a CU-Boulder fan. Lets just be clear on that point. However, the very idea that CU might be legally forced to re-hire this idiot is outrageous for a supposed free, capitalistic country. Yes, I know CU is tax supported. This clown will be an idiot magnet for the rest of his very protected life, if re-hired. Who represents the average tax-paying schmuck on this one? Answer: no one, as usual.

Churchill is a cogent argument for the ending of the whole concept of “tenure” at institutions of education.
