Jesus Fish/Darwin Fish
--snip--
Atheists use their Darwin fish to protest against the Christian faith. That they use evolution to counter biblical faith shows how foundational the issue of origins is to the gospel, and that church leaders who dismiss it as a side issue have their heads in the sand...

[[And I want people to not think that conservative political activism is decideing what other people want for them.]]
but only when it comers to Christians I assume- I doubt oyu’re on African American forums complaining aobut those that speak out against groups that engage in ‘conservative political activism’ by insulting African Americans, or on Jewish forums condemning Jews for speaking out against hate symbols agaisnt hte Jewish people. Only when it comes to Christians are you vocal o nthe issue, deciding what is acceptable and what is not FOR those hwo are offended by blatant and obvious attacks on hte Christian Faith and on God our Creator.
For what ever reason people that buy the Christian symbol modified to mock Christ and his followers and makes the effort to display it on their cars are displaying a hate symbol.
We bloody well know why the Star of David is not being altered and then displayed in that manner on your cars, it is because that would be a hate symbol that even the store would not want to sell.
You assume incorrectly, and base the assumption on multiple logical fallacies. Your religious differences between your beliefs and those of other faiths or denominations over creation doctrine are not a political issue.
You set the bar for hate symbols a bit lower than do I.
When you come up with a mocking, evolution, automobile ornament that insults the Star of David and you start marketing it, let me know.
You, and a few others, are the ones seeing this as hate. I believe that even mocking is too strong a word to use in this context.
Like I said, start attacking the Jewish faith with an automobile ornament using the Star of David, see if people think that it is a hate symbol or at the very least “mocking”.
I wonder how it would be received by employers and society in general.

Gotcha. No problem there.
Hope you at least read it.
and actually you already told me that and I forgot.
Mea culpa.
Indeed the Creator gifted us free will in moral choices - that is, the freedom to do what is right or what is wrong. For other activities, like our heart beating or breathing, he does not bestow free will by making those activities involuntary. Not certain how natural selection is a moral choice and thus subject to free will.
First we need a significant number of Jewish people to start putting Stars of David on their cars. Then we need a bunch of them to start trying to make political hay out of their particular take on their faith. Get back to me then, and I'll see what I can come up with.
I think you pretty much made my case, it is a hate symbol and if you get angry enough at Jews then you will consider putting an anti Jewish hate symbol on your car as well.
Any anger or hate you see in my post is something you made up yourself.
You need to read it again.

Certainly God could have used the evolutionary process to create. I used to think that when I bought the evolutionary drivel I was taught in undergraduate studies (even at a Christian college). And just believing evolution does not make you automatically not a Christian.
However, the Bible states God created man personally, with His own hands - separate from the other parts of Creation. The more I study and come to know God, the more I turn away from evolution. Its like global warming - taught as fact when the scientific underpinning is thin and widely disputed.
The real answer is evolution and Creation are both faith based systems and everyone has to judge for themselves. I find the belief in evolution as a Christian kind of like the mushy middle in politics, but that’s just my personal point of view.
I have undergraduate degrees in biology as well as general science. I have an MD degree. I am a theist (devout Christian) and actually a YEC, although that is a whole nother kettle of fish.
Not all scientists are atheists. I know many that are not. My husband graduated from MIT with a degree in chem engineering and he is the most devout Christian husband and father you could hope to meet.
Okay. But I come to the same conclusion. I don't hate Jews, nor do I hate Christians. If I put a Darwin fish on my car, it would not be because I was angry at Christians. If I put the Star of David equivalent (whatever that would be) on my car, it would not be because I was angry at Jews. Any hate or anger you see in my posts is something you made up yourself.
Buying an altered Star of David to demonstrate and announce your mocking of the Jewish faith and it’s adherents and installing it on your car is an action making a statement so strong, that I have never seen it.
