Jesus Fish/Darwin Fish
--snip--
Atheists use their Darwin fish to protest against the Christian faith. That they use evolution to counter biblical faith shows how foundational the issue of origins is to the gospel, and that church leaders who dismiss it as a side issue have their heads in the sand...

Reminds me of the Obama sticker on one end of the bumper and pro-life on the other end, here in Atlanta.
It's my stove, and I'll damn well cook on it if I want to.
you may just cook on it at that- but do what ya want
What I want is for people to not think "conservative political activism" is bitching about plastic fish with legs.
It probably is a joke, and taken as a joke as often as it's meant to be one.
I also suspect more often than not it's a joke AND a mock...just like the little boy kneeling and praying in front of a cross and then you see the same boy with a smirk urinating on the cross in response.
Typically the same kind of people and in fact I've seen both decals on a car/truck more than once.
To be in control of something or someone is to deprive it of free will, and free will is the greatest gift that God gave Man.
People would understand if I put feet on the Star of David?
Put the most common Darwin hate symbol over the Star of David or just put feet on the Jewish symbol as you mentioned, either way people would know what you are saying and admire you greatly I’m sure.
If you think current anti-Christian hate symbols are not sufficiently insulting for anti-Jewish purposes, then surely the people that design, manufacture, and purchase the symbols can come up with a new design.
Seriously, commuting is aggravating enough. I wonder why some people feel the urge to increase the annoyance level of rush hour traffic by wearing their political and religious views on their sleeves (er, bumpers).
I doubt anyone has ever changed their opinions based on a bumper sticker.
I’ve got sports teams on my bumper and one that says “bitter clinger”.
In a sea of obama stickers, and “somewhere in Texas a village is missing their idiot”,or “W, the idiot”...”coexist”...etc. etc. etc. here in Atlanta.
I used to own a honda civic with one that said “the opposite of progress is congress”.
Thanks for the ping!
I have 4 simple questions that you both might ponder before you state an ‘oh so sure studied & learned’ position regarding evolution.
1. What is the evolutionary explanation for stasis in the fossil record?
2. What is the evolutionary explanation for polystrate fossils?
3. Since no biological clocks can be assured of 100% accuracy, why does evolutionary science discard completely the hundred or so other younger biological, geological, and astronomical clocks in favor of only a very few indicating billions of years for earth and universe?
4. What was it that Darwin himself said would absolutely cause his theory of evolution to fall apart?
Once you begin to see the folly in trying to explain those questions above you might try moving on to all that is presented at:

On 2nd thought you probably won’t give it much more than a few minutes of half-hearted consideration, but others may enjoy it and have their christian faith strengthened nonetheless.
Indeed. Thank you for sharing your insights, dear sister in Christ!
[[What I want is for people to not think “conservative political activism” is bitching about plastic fish with legs.]]
Nah- what you want is a pick and choose system of determinign what is and is not hate symbolism- as the person pointed out below, try putting that symbol over hte Star of David and claiming it’s ‘nothign but political activism’ and see what happens- Apparently, it’s alright to attack Christians, and hwen they speak out against it, just wave it away as ‘nothing’, but you would, I assume, be averse to a symbol of a black person’s fist in a red circle with a lien htrough it- ooooh- that’[s obvious hate speech- can’t allow that- but by golly, you can say whatever you liek about hte Christian faith- malign their symbols,- whatever stirkes oyur fancy, and that’s just fine- seems to be a double standard- which of course you’ll deny
Personally- I coudl care less- however, when you make light of it insinuating that Christians don’t have a right to speak out agaisnt somethign that is an obvious slap in the face, and an insult ot our Creator, then that I have a problem with
>>>>Does defacing a Christian symbol to create an imaginary quadruped fish that is supposed to be “evolved,” and placing it on your automobile mean anything other than that the driver just enjoys mocking Christians?
Yes. It could also mean they enjoy mocking the kind of buffoons who go around filling NEWS threads with religious tirades pretending to be editorials and “HMS Darwin” types of remarks. Mouth breathing scientifically illiterate flat earth spammers, not christians as such.
As for “defacing” religious symbols, I think representative outlines of “fish” are in the public domain. You can do with them pretty much as you please.
Great to be back :o) Has the HMS Creation seen any action while Ive been away???It was pretty quiet.
And I want people to not think that conservative political activism is decideing what other people want for them.
a Darwin hate symbol
________
A hate symbol? Let the hyperbole begin!
Oh, too late.
And Ive been to someones house that had a Koran and a Bible on the shelf next to each other.
Yes, there are some confused people out there.
_______
One of my son’s friends growing up had a Jewish mom and a Muslim father. Such a sight in that house was quite the norm.
Having trouble imagining the family get togethers with the extended family, though.
Have you come up with a Jewish version yet?
Your assumption that anyone believing in evolution and demonstrates it with a Darwin fish hates Christians is simply false.
By your calculus, then, the cartoon that GGG posts routinely with the disembodied brains worshipping at the feet of Darwin is a hate symbol as well, mocking the beliefs of others (for the record, I don’t see it as a hate symbol). But you are not indignant about that, because your ox is not being gored.
Feet at the bottom of a Star of David is nonsensical, as would be feet at the bottom of the symbols of Islam. Feet at the bottom of a fish? Well that ties nicely into the theme of evolution (sea to land), AND it gets to poke a little fun. Hate symbol? Can’t get there.
