CBS' Chip Reid and Helen Thomas double teamed Robert Gibbs today at the daily press briefing on the "tightly controlled" town hall meeting President Obama will hold on health care. Gibbs kept saying lets have this discussion AFTER the meeting. Helen Thomas accused the White House of "controlling the press." She said almost all White House/Obama events are "prepackaged." She accused the White House of not "having any answers."

The press now has to ‘email’ their questions in to the White House! Gibbs repeatedly asked Chip and even Helen if they had emailed their questions!
Helen nailed them about the controlled situation and the lack of openness and said “we have never had this in the White House”.

Credit where credit is due. I agree with the previous poster to post only glamor shots of Helen on this thread. If she’s speaking out against this administration, we should be nice.

I think the press’s egos are being stomped on by Team Obama. They hate not being in the center of things. Obama’s propaganda team has moved the normal press to the sidelines.
