Military board in Syracuse recommends discharge for Lt. Dan Choi (gay guardsman)

Syracuse, NY -- Lt. Dan Choi vowed Tuesday evening to fight to stay in the military after an Army board in Syracuse recommended he be the first person discharged from the New York National Guard for violating the "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

A four-officer panel meeting at Hancock Air Base notified Choi at about 5 p.m. that it would recommend he be discharged because he has publicly said he is gay.

The recommendation now goes to Lt. Gen. Thomas Miller of the First Army Division, and Gen. Craig McKinley, the chief of the National Guard Bureau, who will make the final decision.

"Today was a setback for me," Choi said at a 6:10 p.m. news conference. "I got in trouble for saying three words. 'I am gay.'"

But he said he refuses to lie about being involved in a relationship with another man. Choi said the relationship has made him a better person, a better Christian and a better officer.

Choi, an Arabic-speaking officer who served for 15 months in Iraq as a member of Fort Drum's 10th Mountain Division before joining a New York National Guard unit based in Manhattan, said he would appeal to the higher-ranking officers to stay in the National Guard.

There is no deadline for a final decision in Choi's case.

Choi said the relationship has made him a better person, a better Christian and a better officer.

Obviously the Christian Bible is meaningless to him.

Yet another linguist who values what he does with his penis more than he values his country’s safety.

If somebody told me I could serve a crucial role in defeating terrorism, maybe even prevent another 9/11, and the one catch is that I can’t ever publically mention I like girls, my reaction would be, “Where do I sign?”

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”—2 Timothy 4:2-4

The guy knew the rules. Gay activism is not acceptable in the military period and that is what he is making this about. The military has restrictions on that kind of thing and not only for homosexuals. Open homosexuals are far more likely to not only contract but spread disease.

Choi said the relationship has made him a better person, a better Christian and a better officer.

1. Better person? He's a part of a group of individuals who want the American Constitution and state constitutions changed for them.

2. Better CHRISTIAN? All I can say about that is he obviously has no idea what being a Christian means.

3. Better Officer? He can't follow the rules of the military he serves. How is that being a better officer.

Kick him out NOW!

But, but, but...in some societies it's okay to be gay, Asian and in uniform!

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.

I don’t know how effective a linguist he can be if he can’t understand the words “Don’t ask, don’t tell” in his native tongue.

Intentionally so. Standard sleeper-cell tactic - stay buried until an advantageous time, then hit.

Count on the fact that he’s probably involved with every organization out there right now trying to push the Admin to reverse the DADT policy.

This is another of their perfectly-timed cause celebre.

NOTHING is beyond these people and the admin, and NOTHING is coincidence.

Trying to get a case in front of the Supreme Court after the President gets a few nominees on there.

This’ll gut our military.

It's incrementalism.

Step one: Get the fags in the Service. DADT allows that. As long as they STFU, they're in.

Step two: Let them serve a few years, get a record.

Step three: They "come out". Now the military is forced to expel them.

Step four: Whine and complain about "unfairness"

Step five: A compliant Pres__ent rescinds DADT, and allows open faggotry in the ranks (to the detriment of good order and discipline).

Mission accomplished.

I have known too many gay people in the service, at work, and even in my family to think that they should not be honored for serving the country. Anyone willing to put on the uniform and protect our country needs out respect. I don’t care if you like women if you do not step forward when the nation calls. As long as people are not doing it in front of me I don’t care what they do in bed.

I don't disagree but there are a lot of hardened folks in uniform that plainly will not accept homosexuals in the ranks...and it is not that hard, you know, to arrange a "friendly fire" incident in combat, or an accident on the firing range, or one involving a jet intake on an airbase, or just pushing someone over the side on a darkened destroyer on a moonless night a sea. I would strongly advise those of the uniformed GLBT community to stay safely in their closets despite what their unfamiliar-with-the-military commander-in-chief tries to do for them. Don't ask, don't tell works and keeps good order and discipline going. Hedonistic sodomizing will destroy unit cohesion and will end up getting good people killed.

From the UCMJ:

925. ART. 125. SODOMY

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
