No.. I asked this during the election. Is Obama’s license active?
When she was hired by the hospital in Chicago (forget the name) was she fulfilling a legal advisory role? If so, can she do that without a license to practice?
I don’t think his is active either if I remember right from the campaign. He never really taught Constitutional Law — he sat around and talked sports and told jokes so the students wasted a semester and rumors have it that is why he had stop teaching the course.
There has always been something suspect with her law license in particular because she took the bar so many times and only practiced a short time. The question would be WHY?
She may not have needed to renew, it appears she gave up on law;
In 1993, she became Executive Director for the Chicago office of Public Allies, a non-profit organization encouraging young people to work on social issues in nonprofit groups and government agencies.[14] She worked there nearly four years and set fundraising records for the organization that still stood a dozen years after she left.[11]
In 1996, she served as the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago, where she developed the University’s Community Service Center.[37] In 2002, she began working for the University of Chicago Hospitals, first as executive director for community affairs and, beginning May 2005, as Vice President for Community and External Affairs.[38] She continued to hold the University of Chicago Hospitals position during the primary campaign, but cut back to part time in order to spend time with her daughters as well as work for her husband’s election;[39] she subsequently took a leave of absence from her job.[40] According to the couples 2006 income tax return, Michelle’s salary was $273,618 from the University of Chicago Hospitals, while her husband had a salary of $157,082 from the United States Senate. The total Obama income, however, was $991,296 which included $51,200 she earned as a member of the board of directors of TreeHouse Foods, and investments and royalties from his books.[41]
She served as a salaried board member of TreeHouse Foods, Inc. (NYSE: THS),[42] a major Wal-Mart supplier with whom she cut ties immediately after her husband made comments critical of Wal-Mart at an AFL-CIO forum in Trenton, New Jersey, on May 14, 2007.[43] She serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.[44]
It was the “court ordered inactive status” that caught my eye.
Nevertheless, by hook or crook, she has done quite well for herself....probably mostly because of the color of her skin.
That’s the first I’ve heard that she had to re-take the bar exam. Can you provide any details? Thanks in advance.
Aria, great find, what can be done with it is another thing. Using you site I search for Obama, seems neither one is authorized to practice. hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what’s up with that!

That...and she scooped Bammy up when he was an intern...very Clintonian...she was his “Mentor” at the law firm...where, coincidentally, Bernadette Dohrn worked...
I seem to have checked on his license. He passed the bar exam. I thought his license was active.
Still, compared to George Bush’s college records....you can’t anything on these people.
No one is out there as witnesses at parties, classes...
The guy is the head of Harvard Law Journal. What did he write?
This whole thing tells me that we, the US people, are in for a huge awakening someday soon. This guy is a houseof cards...
He rebukes those who ask any kind of honest question...He intimidates the press....
The media are panzies..
Happens all the time. Usually when a lawyer retires or does work that doesn't require them to practice as an attorney they switch their license to an inactive status. Then they don't have to pay licensing fees, keep up with continuing education, or perform any of the petty details required to maintain their license in good standing. The reason why it's a court ordered inactive status is because in Illinois the state Supreme Court is responsible for regulating attorneys.
If you check you'll find Obama's license is in the same status. And I'm sure that every Illinois congressman or senator that's also an attorney is as well.
No and yes.
she requested it
not sure why you’d do that but it isn’t unusual
Her husband calling in a few chit’s doesn’t hurt either.
She couldn't pass the Illinois Bar exam on the first attempt. In her first job as an attorney, she was ultimately assigned work in marketing and intellectual property. Here you have recent Harvard Law School graduate doing marketing and intellectual property. Without a technical degree, she could never become a patent attorney and work on the full scope of intellectual property law.
She was pretty clearly in a "do no damage" position. However, it get's better because she was assigned to mentor Barack. You only mentor someone you work with so, young Obama, fresh from Harvard Law School must have been assigned as a new hire to the "do no damage" and dead end job of marketing and intellectual property
So as not to slip up and get disbarred like Clinton, Hussein probably withdrew his license when he got into politics.
Why bother with professional status when one has become American royalty?
Exactly. There's plenty of scandal to follow with Obama. This one's (most likely) a dead end for those who are over-reaching.
Her status is different than Obama’s. It is unusual. It is court ordered.
May be a great guy but you put him where he can't hurt anybody or anything ~
