That's how one longtime friend and campaign trail companion of John McCain, the vanquished 2008 GOP presidential nominee, described veep nominee Sarah Palin.
In an expansive story in the August edition of Vanity Fair, a slew of senior members of McCain's campaign team told reporter Todd S. Purdum that they suffer a kind of survivor's guilt following the 2008 presidential election.

However, even though I am certainly no cheerleader for Gov. Palin, I will say that if Team McQueeg finds her such a "Little Shop of Horrors" it tends to speak ill of their vetting efforts, or of the judgment of their boss in choosing (and keeping) such a person for the ticket.

I knew right there the campaign was lost. McCain would not confront Obama on anything.
Even the gift of Joe the Plumber, he squandered.
The campaign leaders for McCain were despicable, pro-Obama losers. Had Palin not interjected some life into McStupid’s moribund campaign, he would have lost by another 10-12 million votes.
I’ll not forgive McLoser for giving us Obama. There was too much at stake.
And the last thing that belies the premise of the article: Joe Biden as a VP was dumber, less qualified, and was covered for by the MSM for all his gaffes.
Funny, I don’t remember any Palin gaffes.
She’s President No. 45. And if the GOP doesn’t think so, we’ll do it without them.
Without Palin, McCain’s “campaign” would have looked like a slow march to the gallows.

That’s true. It was controlled by the British during the Revolution. But each year it becomes less and less “American”.
I would suggest folks email comments in to the GOP like I just did—we don’t need to be trashing our own—the media and dems are doing fine job of that.
I told GOP NO $ ever if this continues. I am now going to call McCain’s office as well.
