If it were up to me, I'd turn off every natural gas and petroleum line leaving the state. Quit sending the billions to DC for the dipsticks there to spend in all the liberal meccas in the other states. Run every libtard in Austin back to their original state. Confiscate all military equipment and secure the border on all sides with the military already in the state.
OK, read your post 3-4 times before I got it!
Thanks for your service, both past and future.
And if Texas did secede, Chavez would then turn his war ideas to us. He has a thing for oil, y'know.
Great plan.
Secure the border on all sides, setting up a one-way border to let conservatives in and libs out.
You don’t think Texas could take a bunch of conscripts from South America?
Heck, just “leaflet” their “army” and offer to let them immigrate and the “war” would be done in a day.
I pray that he means it.....
His apparent competitor, Kay Bailey Hutchison, angers me every time I receive one of her responses....she always politely "thanks me for my input"....but never clearly answers my questions. Most of my questions require a simple yes or no....and she answers with a two page letter....of BS... Why can't I get a simple yes or no to a simple question...because she plays the political game of hide the answer till it becomes popular...
Cut off your source of revenue. Good plan.
Quit sending the billions to DC for the dipsticks there to spend in all the liberal meccas in the other states.
Understandable, you're going to need it for your own budget. Texas gets back 94 cents for every dollar is sends to Washington so I'd say your taxes may go down slightly.
Run every libtard in Austin back to their original state.
What if they don't want to go? Are you talking arrests and forcible deportation? The Constitution and its protections will be one of the things you'll be leaving behind?
Confiscate all military equipment and secure the border on all sides with the military already in the state.
I'd say that Texas would be entitled to all the equipment assigned to it's National Guard and Air Guard, but all that stuff in Fort Hood and Fort Bliss and such? It isn't your's.
Oh, I have no doubt that the Texas Guard could defend our state.
According to this, the debt foisted off on Texas for the cap-and-trade debacle is going to be even higher.
Texas is NOT liable for what the federal government decides to do if it is outside of its enumerated powers to do so.
Texas is one OF ONLY SEVEN States that are still fiscally solvent, and as the map shows, the primary beneficiaries are the most debited states.
The feds can take their wealth-distribution debt created by their own unconstitutional actions and stick it where the sun don't shine.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact!
I agree with your observations.
I also know about “Governor Rick” (know his Father from the State Republican Convention). I do not personally know Rick although we both grew up in the county I live in.
On this issue of the 10th Amendment and the states, he has absolutely stated it correctly. Motives? Not sure, but if he means what he said I am with him.
IT IS TIME.
No need to force liberals out of the state.
Removal of social programs and power for the elites would cause a “greener pastures” emigration movement.
Simply deny the elites the power to control others,
and remove all benefits for sloth,
and you’d get rid of 80% of them. The rest would get a job and become productive.
Actually...I hope the new legislature would consider all former US assets abandoned....yet....partially owned by the Republic of Texas. Correct me it I am wrong, but aren'y you thinking in terms of US law...not Republic of Texas law....?
THAT is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. We have some guys near Killene at Ft. Hood who would give Chubby Hugo his head in a twinkle.
And if you leave then you don't have to worry about that, do you? We're talking about the bill that Texas presidents have run up to date.
Texas is NOT liable for what the federal government decides to do if it is outside of its enumerated powers to do so.
Yeah it is. LBJ and both Bush's are more responsible for it than any other president. You should be thankful we don't make you take on the whole thing.
Texas is one OF ONLY SEVEN States that are still fiscally solvent, and as the map shows, the primary beneficiaries are the most debited states.
And a $900 billion debt load should take care of that.
The feds can take their wealth-distribution debt created by their own unconstitutional actions and stick it where the sun don't shine.
And as far as I'm concerned Texas can wander off into the sunset and I won't lift a finger to stop you. But don't think that you can just walk away from the mess y'all did more than your share to create in the first place and leave it for the rest of us.
The Constitution is not a suicide pact!
Nor is it a club to beat the rest of us with on your way out the door.
But our energy prices would be much cheaper. Where would the rest of the country get their gas from, since so much is refined on the TX coast?
Texas gets back 94 cents for every dollar is sends to Washington so I'd say your taxes may go down slightly.
I don' think that is right. If we keep the $$$$$$s here to start with, think of all the administrative dollars that would not be left in DC. As far as the libs here, if they don't like it, they will leave on their own. They tend to stay where they can suck up freebies. Cut that off and they will be out of here.
We were a republic once before, and I think we can do it again.
Eventually, the humans beat the Borg, if you recall.
Did I say Chavez would defeat Texas? No.
Not sure how Texas gets the blame nonsensical keeps sputtering about. None of the presidents he whines about spent one penny without the approval of Congress.
I imagine we'll just buy it from you. So what?
I don' think that is right. If we keep the $$$$$$s here to start with, think of all the administrative dollars that would not be left in DC.
Some of those will have to fund the administration you'll have to set up to replace the government one. State Department, Defense Department, etc. It won't all be savings.
As far as the libs here, if they don't like it, they will leave on their own. They tend to stay where they can suck up freebies. Cut that off and they will be out of here.
Ah but what if they stay and try to take over?
We were a republic once before, and I think we can do it again.
Well good luck with it.
Texas already has a Constitution. There are plenty of protections in it. We were a separate country before and we can be one again. The details don’t matter because the most important thing is the mindset of freedom and independence, as Texas Fossil so succinctly stated.
Instead of trying to dissuade us, why don’t you come on down and join us?
