The White House seems to be retreating from President Barack Obamas campaign promise that he would not raise taxes on families making less than $250,000.
Under persistent questioning from ABCs George Stephanopoulos Sunday, Obama senior adviser David Axelrod declined to restate the vow and left open the possibility that the president might sign health care reform legislation that taxes high-cost, employer-provided insurance plans which some middle-class families currently receive tax free.
The president had said in the past that he doesn't believe taxing health care benefits at any level is necessarily the best way to go here. He still believes that, but there are a number of formulations and we'll wait and see, Axelrod said on ABCs This Week. The important thing at this point is to keep the process moving, to keep people at the table, to the keep the discussions going. We've gotten a long way down the road and we want to finish that journey.
When Stephanopoulos asked why Obama hadnt drawn a line in the sand over his tax pledge, Axelrod suggested that kind of ultimatum is at odds with the presidents effort to being a new tone to politics.
One of the problems we've had in this town is that people draw lines in the sand and they stop talking to each other. And you don't get anything done. That's not the way the president approaches this, the White House adviser said.
~~PING!
They know hes only a one-term failure and are going to ram 12 years worth of feces through without reading it.
Tar and Feathers!
The Stalinist Axlerod basically admits they have been liars.
And they feel that no one cares one way or the other, so sure on their formula for voter fraud and cheating in the 2010 elections.
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

“...95 percent of Americans will not see their taxes increase by one dime...”
The messiah is the biggest PATHOLOGICAL LIAR I’ve ever seen in my lifetime! He makes Slick seem like Cherry Tree George. Orwell’s TruthSpeak IN SPADES!!!!!!
Steffie and the Axe worked this little dog and pony show today to get this trial balloon out there and also to try and give the impression that the poor prez doesn’t want to do this to you. It’s those bad guys in Congress pushing him.
Of course taxing health care benefits is not "the best way to go." It stinks. That is, unless you're an elitist socialist with fascist leanings like obama. Then hey, it is just another way to push more people into obamacare and completely, "reluctantly" (spit) take over that industry/market segment too.
obama is shaping up to be the single biggest disaster our Country has ever seen. The America of the 2012 election is going to be nearly unrecognizable when compared to America of 2008.
...for breakfast!
>>>>> taxes high-cost, employer-provided insurance plans which some middle-class families currently receive tax free. <<<<<
Wrong.
NO middle class family currently pays taxes on employer SUBSIDIZED health care.
Nice try guys but it won't work. We know by now just to watch what el bozo "does" not anything he "says."
Where do people think Barry is going to get the money for all his wonderfull progams?? Not only the direct tax increases but letting the bush tax cuts elapse....And the cost of everything going up from Obama inflation.........
Still I wonder if Zero has bought his brother a Hut Sweet Hut sign......
Obama, the “wait and see” president.
APPARENTLY, FOOLING ALL OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME IS NOT NECESSARY IN ORDER TO DESTROY THE REPUBLIC.
Like minds Bah.
Obama, the wait and see president.
He’s voting “Present”...Pres__ent Obama...
They will tax healthcare benefits, except unions, congress, and all federal employees will receive exemption. That is the Obama way screw the rest.
