Iran pledges 'crushing' response to US critiques

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed Saturday to make the U.S. regret its criticism of Iran's postelection crackdown and said the "mask has been removed" from the Obama administration's efforts to improve relations.

Ahmadinejad — with his internal opponents virtually silenced — all but dared Obama to keep calling for an end to repression of demonstrators who claim the hardline leader stole re-election through massive fraud.

"You should know that if you continue the response of the Iranian nation will be strong," Ahmadinejad said in a speech to members of Iran's judiciary, which is directly controlled by the ruling clerics. "The response of the Iranian nation will be crushing. The response will cause remorse."

He is our national disgrace and he’s only been in the job a few months. Give him another year or so. He’ll make the name “America” synonymous with “horses patoot” around the world.

They knew before he was elected.

So, is he threatening to smack Obama and the US or make it Obama’s fault when he smacks down the revolution? Nice to have Obama blamed for something, esp as he avoids being ever responsible for anything.

Thanks uhbama, uh, uh, for sure, for already CRUSHING the hopes the desparate folks in Iran had for overthrowing a massivelyl oppressive and sick regime. Thanks, thanks for helping them to sieze the opportunity by gathering world disgust over their actions and by making direct promises to stop their massacre. When a nation's leaders authorize throwing people over bridges and smashing them to death with clubs...what ARE WE if we as a free people with power and a deep committment to freedom everywhere, do not help.

I already HATE the America uhbama is brewing-a selfish, state controlled, elitist freak show that is a shell of what it once stood for.

The PC crowd has taken over the democrats and they are NOT a political party, they are a threat to America's existence as a good, good neighbor, the most generous nation to ever exist on earth.

Biden was right at least once. They are testing Obama big time. And the result is not to our liking.

‘Threatening to start something in Iraq?’

I think what the Iranian nutjob is implying is that his thugs will absolutely and violently crush the remaining protestors, execute one’s that are considered ‘agents of the U.S.’, then blame the executiuons on the U.S. for it’s apparent ‘meddling’. They’ll do the killing, we’ll get the blame. The Iranian people will know that that’s a crock of s***, but that’ll be the official line of the regime.

Something that never ceases to amaze, is how Americans allow the president to act like he is our spokesman. Any American is free to respond to Ahmadinejad in very insulting terms, that if they were published, would send him into a right royal froth.

The best part is that the Middle East is known for its flowery, flowing curses, that would elicit considerable laughter in Iran, being somewhat archaic. In the US it would be like calling a politician a “dimwit poopy pants.” If the expression stuck, it could ruin him politically.

Bambi didn’t even say much of anything.

Personally, I think this is a set-up. Ahmadinejad realizes that if he thanks or praises Bambi, it won’t look good for Bambi, so now we’re having the faux outrage.

You got to give it up to the Iranians and North Koreans,
Obama wishes he could have writers like that.

Mousavi wimped out. I'm sure Obama's obvious decision to let the corrupt Ayatollahs that rule Iran squash the nascent revolution against the 'religious' dictatorship had to be a factor in that decision.

With no real leader and the constant threat of prison, beatings and/or death, the Iranian people gave up - this time. Obama made it clear that he won't lift a finger to help the Iranian people, practically encouraging Ahmadinejad, the Ayatollahs sock puppet, to issue vague, blustering threats against America - for mildly objecting to Iranian leaders violence against their own people - because he knows now (with no reservations) that President Barack Hussein Obama is a weakling who is better at reading a teleprompter and apologizing for America - the freest country on the face of the earth - than making a firm declaration of support for the protesters in Iran who risk death - every day.

Like Muslim terrorists everywhere, Ahmadinejad knows that overreaction and violence when anyone so much as whispers a disapproving comment about Iran's theocracy works well with cowing leftist wimps like our new president.

The message is: if you intend to rebel against a dictatorship, don't count on America to support you. We want to have a 'dialogue' with your dictator.

Yeah, Obama is being challenged alright, and reacting exactly as we expected. Disgusting.

You are absolutely right. Ahmadinejad is turning the protests to his advantage by exterminating any and all opposition. It is agonizingly painful to watch even from this distance and with the MJ nonsense getting in the way, all to Ahmadinejad's great benefit.

However, I am certain that Iraq is next on his menu as the US troops depart. al Malaki might be sympathetic with the Mullahs plus the Shia part of the country has some really stupid leaders (Sadhr).
