He's good but his audience isn't the brightest. It should have been a clue for the idiots when first Obama said he would “create” 5 million new jobs then it went down to 3 million new jobs and then he said he would “create or save” 3 million jobs. Now he's back to “possible” after this.

They don't have the votes, maybe with Franken, Arlen and the Maine sisters they might have 41. The numbers are not there and Reid knows it. Why isn't the MSM saying "it looks good” in the senate? Quite the contrary, we're hearing that, at best, “it will be very difficult in the senate,” and that's being optimistic. The senate's parliamentary rules also allow for endless mischief, and Inhofe/McConnell know it.

Congress and Obama will make sure this is a slow drip where they think no one will notice. First year $50 extra a year, 2nd year $100, 3rd year $200, etc, etc,,,

“BARACK OBAMA’S PLAN TO CREATE 5 MILLION NEW GREEN JOBS”

Obama's math does not include the 5 million jobs he destroyed. Creating inefficient unsustainable jobs is not how you recover an economy. Obama is working against the market forces instead of letting the market forces work to create jobs.

“But, the key component of the legislative process under these circumstances would be the U.S. Senate. Inhofe pointed to a measure that would require any climate treaty to include developing nations to self-impose the carbon restrictions for the United States to also go along with it.

“While the House will pass the bill … in the Senate, they’re not going to be able to pass it,” Inhofe said. “You guys – it’s just not going to happen. Now we have a history of what’s happened in the Senate. We had the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. Remember that’s where we passed by a 94-1, I think it was, saying we don’t want to ratify any treaty – the Senate doesn’t – that doesn’t include developing nations with developed nations. Well, that stuck with us.”

Inhofe explained that in 2003 and 2005, he was able to nearly single-handedly take down a bill sponsored by Sens. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Joseph Liebermann, I-Conn., which would have set a cap-and-trade system in place.

“Yet, with very popular people, like McCain and Liebermann coming up in ’03 and then again in ’05 – the reason I’m going to tell you that they don’t have the votes, it’s not going to pass is that in ’05, that’s when I was on the floor for eight hours a day, five days, or about 10 hours a days, 50 hours – is that only two senators would come to the floor that would help me with this because I was taking on McCain and Liebermann on this silly issue.”

But, in 2008 with a similar bill sponsored by Sens. Liebermann and John Warner, R-Va., he had gained significant support compared to his 2003 and 2005 efforts, showing a trend that passage of this type of bill is becoming increasingly more difficult.

“And you fast forward to one year ago today, 2008 – Warner-Liebermann,” Inhofe said. “It didn’t take five days, it took two days – 23 senators came down to help me out on this issue, because I told [California Democratic Sen.] Barbara Boxer to you know, get over it, get a life. You lost, we won.”

The Oklahoma senator credited the Founding Fathers, noting that the senate rules put in place are a difficult obstacle for the global warming activists in the federal government to overcome.

“It will pass in the House, in the Senate it will not pass,” Inhofe continued. “And her latest vote and she won’t admit this, but it’s 34 votes and it takes 60 votes in the Senate. Maybe the people who wrote our constitution knew what they were talking about.””

Dittos here. I called Pingree’s (ME1 Moonbat)office multiple times but with full knowledge that I was tilting at a windmill. Maybe Collins and Snowe can be swung against this but I’ve my doubts. I’m sure that they are still basking in the glow of being correct in the case of the bailout. That’s worked out well, hasn’t it?

Here in Missouri, Senator Bond has spoken out strongly against C&T. Not sure what McCaskill’s position is but she’s voted hard left previously...

Evan Bayh is absolutely against this, as are most dems from mid west and industrial States.

Senator Inhofe has naihled it. The Census and counting illegals towards how Reps a state gets has made Middle America except for TX not have as much power. In the Senate where each State is equal, the RATs/ZERO cannot get the votes for passage.

We need to thank Norm Coleman for putting up such a fight and it needs to continue awhile longer for one thing. Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd are not sitting in the Senate due to health reasons and they already have Spector.

You are not going to see Ben Nelson D-NE or even the Dakota Senators vote YES on this one. I think it would be hard to get any votes out of oil or farm country. There is already an article on Landrieu of LA voting NO because she has no choice.

Senator Inhofe is 100% correct, but that doesn’t mean that all of us don’t need to keep after the Senate will full force.

Best guess is that this will be delayed until after the August recess and it will never pass. Pelosi shot herself in the foot on this one along with 8 Republicans who allowed 8 Dems to vote that would have voted yes under the direction of Queen Pelosi.

I would believe Inhofe too, but the DEMS have a way of calling for a vote when members are not present...so thinking we need to be watching their every move!
