It just occurred to me that because Senator Bayh came out against this catastrophe, it allowed Indiana Democrats in the House to vote for it knowing that it will not pass in the end, but they could still be in Nanzi’s good grace.

I wrote Lieberman, I figure Dodd is a waste of protoplasm but here is a copy of my letter.

Dear Sen. Lieberman:

I am writing to you because on issues like the war on terror you seem to be a man of integrity.

I am urging you to reject the so called cap and trade bill when it comes up for a vote. With the unemployment rate in CT hovering north of 10% I don't see how adding another onerous, hidden tax will help us turn the economy around.

This is not "economic stimulus" it's economic suicide. If you tax energy it ripples throughout the economy. As it is inflation is heating up and jobs are headed overseas.

Please, please ,please I urge you to put the country's interest ahead of the fanatical environmentalists. The climate effects will be negligible, even if this were proven to reduce greenhouse gasses. The main reason is we'll be cutting off our economic activity while at the same time countries like China and India who have stated they won't go along with cap and trade will be ramping up their industrial activity. The main difference between them and the US is they don't have ANY pollution standards whatsoever. We all remember pictures of gas masks being worn during the Beijing summer Olympics.

So again I urge you to stand with the middle class of the country and shoot this turkey of a bill down with extreme prejudice.

You’ve got your letter written...Cost you less than $1 and a couple of minutes to send it to the “hopeless”. It would at least puts pressure on him and let’s him know the world is watching. SO SEND IT!

Try calling a local office (make sure you get a zip code from state first, and block your phone number from caller ID)

Or you might do what one FReeper does and tell them you will be moving soon and are considering their state!
