[history]
Unreal. Congressman Barton pointing out that current bill is missing 300 pages and he is asking if they can actually vote on a bill that is not present.
Mod update, see reply #7.

Absolute joke. Markey is saying that Crongressman can view bill online.

I’ve never seen anything like this.
Our government in action.
Pitiful and disgraceful.

he is asking if they can actually vote on a bill that is not present. What different does it make if it's present? It's not like anybody is going to read it anyway.

This is just like the trillion of the TARP bill. The biggest spending bill in history and no one bothers to read it.

They are trying to impose tyranny on us silly.....they can't do it legally, so watch for anything, and I mean ANYTHING to happen in the "official version" on the desk, or the "unofficial version" on the web.

Here is a link to Waxman's 300-page amendment, which is, in effect, the substitute bill: http://www.rules.house.gov/111/SpecialRules/hr2998/waxman1_hr2998_111.pdf
Waxman only made it available this morning. As far as I know there are no print outs except for what is pulled from the Rules Committee website and printed individually. I have been screaming about this on FR all day to no avail.

Of course not. They didn’t read that “stimulus” bill, so why would they read this one?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BOHICA
“BOHICA (also spelled “B.O.H.I.C.A” and Bohica”) is an acronym that stands for “Bend Over, Here It Comes Again” - Used colloquially to indicate that an adverse situation is about to repeat itself, and that acquiescence is the wisest course of action. It literally refers to an acceptance of forced sodomy.[1] The term grew to regular use amongst the US Armed Forces during the Vietnam War, and would appear to have derived from the French word beaucoup (meaning “many” or “much”). [2] Although it originated in the US Military forces, its usage has spread to civilian environments and used to describe unavoidable, unpleasant situations that have inconvenienced one before, and are about to yet again.”

This thing stinks. The backroom deals, arm twisting and out and out dishonesty that we are getting shoved down our throats. I am hearing between $70-$100 per family in increased bills. What a sham.

I still go back to that conversation in civics class where I asked if it were POSSIBLE for Congress to sign our country over and I was told it was next to impossible because it would take the entire Congress not being able to read the bill or not doing it and then the President signing it on top of that...
yeah, after that last stimulus I’m not so sure anymore.
