Keep calling your Congress Critters....they have pagers and cellphones that they receive messages on up to the minute that they vote.

Rep. Waxman (D-pig snout, CA) just intdroduced his bill....without disclosing another 300 pages and last minute admendments who, God knows what, is included.

Anyways....we are in for a helluv an afternoon, with our Constitutional Republic at stake at the worst, and our capitalist, free market way of life at the best.

How about people posting a nose count here.

My rep Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) is a NO VOTE.

For everyone trying to get through to your Rep’s DC office only to encounter a busy signal...

All these folks have local offices scattered around their district - usually at least one in the largest city/town. Search the phone book or web phonebook yellow pages under the Rep’s name.

You can also get the local district office number and address off the Rep’s web page (they all have one).

One final obaservation... E-mail is great, but I feel it’s not nearly as effective as a phone call. From a phone call, the staffer can hear your passion and understand just how important you consider this to be. Plus - they understand it’s not spam or a robo-fax.

My understanding is that the entire Alabama delegation will be voting NO - with the possible exception of Rep. Artur Davis. I have called his DC office and local office and respectfully begged he vote No.

Rush said Minnik (D-ID) was on the fence. Current info calling his DC office about an hour ago is that he will be voting NO.

As someone pointed out a couple of weeks ago, Waxman, Markey, Algore and the Dems are telling us that if we will only tolerate their raising our taxes AND our cost of living, they will be able to control the weather. And the entire MSM believes them.

“Devastates Rural America: According to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the monthly residential electricity bills in 25 states will increase 15 to 28 percent for every $20/ton of carbon dioxide allowances. Rural households spend 58% more on fuel than urban residents as a percentage of their income. The Heritage foundation estimates farm income will drop by $50 billion by 2035.”

Congress should start getting real about this bill and other bills. What they are missing is Obama is a liar. He has already started to kill Congress and the MSM. For example, by not allowing the Republicans to participate and some of the MSM being banned.

They should ask themselves this one question. What’s to stop him from excluding his fellow Democrats on future things. It will happen. I have never seen it to fail if they go down this path. Regardless of what the people want; etc; this is about Congress ability to have a say and they absolutely won’t if Obama gets his way. I can pretty much guarantee that.

Any “Republican” who votes for this bill should be targeted for termination in 2010.

Looks like debate is scheduled to end at 3:45 EDT. Anyone who understands Congressional procedure better than me know if it’s likely to go to a vote then?

As I sit here in Houston, I’m watching the Port of Houston’s representative, Gene Green, rising in support of the bill while giving plenty of reasons why this bill will destroy jobs in his own district. Instead of opposing it, he wants to start a trade war which will probably destroy even more jobs. Where do we get these people?

Well, when you talk to those legislators, find out if they’ve seen this video documentary. If they haven’t they shouldn’t be voting on the bill... :-)

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite *another* to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...

THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply *one* video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the *one*...

The following is an *excellent* video documentary on the so-called “Global Warming” I would recommend it to all FReepers. It’s a very well-made documentary.

“The Great Global Warming Swindle”

If you want to download it, via a BitTorrent site (using a BitTorrent client), you can get it at the following link.
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3635222/The_Great_Global_Warming_Swindle
[this is a high-quality copy, of about a gigabyte in size...]

It’s worth seeing and having for relatives, friends, neighbors and coworkers to see.

Also, see it online here...

[this one is considerably lower quality, is a flash video and viewable online, of course...]

Buy it here...
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WLUXZE
[this one would be the very highest quality version, on a DVD disk, of several gigabytes in size...]

Also, in split parts on YouTube...
