“Devastates Rural America: According to the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the monthly residential electricity bills in 25 states will increase 15 to 28 percent for every $20/ton of carbon dioxide allowances. Rural households spend 58% more on fuel than urban residents as a percentage of their income. The Heritage foundation estimates farm income will drop by $50 billion by 2035.”
From the Heritage Foundation
Yup.
Yesterday I saw a phony analysis that pegged the current average consumer’s monthly electric rate at $99.00.
What crap.
My best months, without heating or A/C costs are $125.00-$140.00. Heating and cooling months run between $250-$280.
This is for an all-electric house in suburban Atlanta.
This is with limited use of the range/oven as I cook outdoors, with propane, most nights.
