Breaking AP Wires:
Michael Jackson suffers major heart attack in Los Angeles...listed in critical condition...
I remember him going to the hospital several times over the years.
Does anyone know if he has a drug problem?
Thanks!
Micheal Jackson is battling a genetic disease that has left him half blind and needing a lung transplant, it was claimed last night.
The superstar, 50 - seen in a wheelchair earlier this year - is said to be so frail he can barely speak.
Jacko’s secret was revealed by his biographer Ian Halperin, who declared: “He needs a lung transplant, but may be too weak to go through with it. He also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping.
“It’s the bleeding that’s the most problematic part. It could kill him.”

No matter what anybody thinks of the man, my prayers are with his family and children.
How sad.
It’s tragic that her son reportedly wasn’t there. (couldn’t be) Sad sad sad! At least she’s not suffering anymore.
No with almost immediate defib when pt is in VF they get about 50% pulse rate back. hundreds and hundreds of cardiac arrests come through my ER and I can count on one hand how many left the hospital Vertically
I thought a 100% blockage meant that the vessels supplying oxygen rich blood to the heart were blocked but I could be wrong.
I agree, and BTW.......I volunteer in the EMS field.....done my share of CPRs.......been there got the t-shirt.
and if the cardiac arrest is caused by trauma such as a gunshot or motor vehicle accident they are even more f**ked, although I doubt that is the case here. Trauma code almost never ever live
Little boys safer if this guy dies.
I know his illness scams (the little boy who cried “wolf”) but if the EMT’s were reported doing CPR, this time it’s serious.
Did he do a Karen Carpenter?
IIRC she died of a heart attack because she was terrified of being fat and her anorexia/bulemia weakened her heart.
Pop star Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.
[Updated at 2:12 p.m. (PDT): Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson rented the Bel Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.
The home is about 2 minutes away from UCLA Medical Center.]
Idle speculation: The 911 call came in at 12:21, which is when you'd expect a Michael Jackson to be first getting up. Someone might checked on him when he didn't get up, and found him in a state of not breathing. This is a common drug OD scenario.
A couple of years ago I was attending the San Diego Comic-Con and got to see Ferrigno, who was staying at the same (moderately-priced) hotel throw a hissy fit that the limo he'd called for ten minutes before hadn't yet arrived through the heavy traffic and narrow streets of the Gaslamp District to drive him the three blocks to the convention hall.
After he stormed off, the woman at the desk looked and me and sighed, saying "He does this every year. Maybe he should call for the limo a little earlier."
he got too excited when he saw a store’s local sale sign:
“Boys Pants, Half Off.”
That was my first thought, that maybe someone could rescue those poor children now.
Looks like there are a bunch of us.
