Farrah Fawcett.
Say her name and there's a good chance millions of Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan wannabes will scratch their heads and mutter: "What's the big deal?"
I'm here to enlighten them.

I know there have been other articles posted today, but I thought this was a nice tribute article. RIP Farrah.

As a fellow Texan, I am also sad by Farrah’s death. She had a beauty that men loved and us women wanted to look like her, She did seem to give it a good fight!

Sorry about what happened to her. Sad. I always thought she was too skinny though.

I had the red swimsuit poster in my room as a kid.
She definitely was IT in the 70s. The celebrity wannabes today will never come cloe.

Remembering the advertisement where she drove a Mercury Cougar out the belly of a Globemaster. That aircraft is located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, at a place called the "Don Q Inn". My first wife and I had lunch there back in the 70s and the story of how they got that plane in there was fascinating!
They lightened it as much as they could, waiting until the wind was just right and dropped her in and stood on the brakes! They barely made it and the only way that plane will ever leave is in pieces, but according the web, she is still there and looking fine!
Rest in Peace, Farrah! You were one special and fine lady!

None of the current crop can come close to Farrah in looks or class.

Yes, it is a good article. The Lindsays, Britneys and Madonnas and their wannabees should take a long look and see what grace, charm and class was all about.
I will miss her. And yes, my hair (although nw red instead of blonde) is still a variation of her famous look. No one should have to suffer so. Prayers for her and her family.

Well, I guess she was an “IT” girl ~ in a 1920’s sort of way! I think there’s a new “IT” girl every generation or two however.

Farrah had a way of smiling at the camera that made me almost feel like she was happy to see me.

Great article. Certainly brings back memories. That it does.
I don't generally like celebrities and rarely get sentimental over them, even when they pass. I think the last one that affected me was Mr. Rogers.
Farrah dying somehow represents the end of an era.
Funny how she was nearly universally liked, by men and women alike.

It is a very nice tribute.
RIP Farrah, from another guy that had your famous poster in his room.
Your serious wok in the latter part of your career will always be respected and keep you from being just another pretty face.

Even our local radio statons (Texas) were referring to her as “best known for her role in “Charlie’s Angels”.
Why not say she was born in Corpus Christi, went to UT and was a success in Hollywood. (her resume is quite extensive)

Indeed. ..and add my voice to the ‘RIP’ voices. Always sad; to lose a part of our past. She was beautiful; she was strong; and she suffered; and now she is free at last.
