Farrah Fawcett, who skyrocketed to fame as one of a trio of impossibly glamorous private eyes on TV's Charlie's Angels, has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 62.
Fawcett died at 9:28 a.m. PST at St. Johns Heath Center in Santa Monica, Calif. She had recently returned to St. John's for treatment of complications from anal cancer, first diagnosed three years ago. Her longtime partner Ryan O'Neal was at her side throughout her final days.
Like so much about Fawcett's life including her bumpy relationship with O'Neal her heroic struggle to beat the disease was closely followed by her legion of fans.

I forgot that one. Just ordered it on Netflix.....I forgot what it’s about so I want to watch it again. Ever see “NOt without my Daughter” with Sally FIeld? It came up in my search.....what a great movie that is too.....

We generally, that is those of us who believe in G_d leave the judging to Him. Even the Atheists abide by this rule here.
From looking at other threads, I don't buy that.
On this thread, I agree it is inappropriate so I'm not saying anything about Ms. Faucett's choices in her life.
But I see values and judgements used all the time in other threads. That's what judging is - looking at data and facts and coming up with a system of values. I don't see how we can say acitivity X is not ok for me but is fine for anyone else to do. Isn't that more how libs work? (in reverse, that is)
God will certainly judge us all in the end. But we do have a level of responsibility while we are on this earth to live our lives - and influence others to live theirs - as God would have us.
But I understand what you're saying. Perhaps you can tell me how to use values in my own life, yet be completely accepting of all the immorality I see? Especially with family and close friends. Do I say nothing at all, ever? Or only when asked? And what about how the children are impacted - what would God have me do with them? It's quite a dilemma.

Stay off this thread. Thanks.

That certainly is a gorgeous picture.Thanks...I wish I had taken it, but alas, I didn't. I have taken some very similar to that, but the girls were not quite that pretty...close, but not quite.

To quote the doctor in the movie (played by jack elam):
“My God, the perfect speciman!”
She was too. She was a “ten” before Bo Derek made it popular.

It’s good to know she had the Last Rites of the Catholic Church.
RIP to a beautiful lady.

"Oh, almost forgot. Per God's standards, if she had a child with O'Neal without marrying him, both were fornicators. God said so, not me. If you want to argue with God, go for it."Farrah was really a model of female physical perfection, who represented the image of the American ideal of womanhood to us at the time -- fresh-faced, healthy, seemingly happy & filled with boundless energy. Don't know a young woman at the time who didn't want to be her, or a single guy back then who would have kicked her out of bed for eating crackers.
That does not mean that the real Farrah was a model of spiritual perfection -- we all just wrote that on her incredibly beautiful face. That we did this to her --expected more than she could deliver -- is on us not her, because inside she was just like the rest of us, struggling to attain some kind of happiness and peace with herself.
But like any other human being when they pass on, their death isn't the appropriate time to condemn them for their sins, but rather to celebrate their life and what they meant to us.

poor thing. She suffered greatly but was trying desperately to bring hope to people and find new ways to deal with the cancer.
I think that people were manipulating the issue to make money off her, but i believe her intentions were true.
may she rest in peace.

Ahh, I'm sorry to hear this. At the same time I'm glad she is no longer in pain. I watched the Farrah Story on TV many weeks ago and it was hard to watch and she was no longer speaking at that time!
She converted to Catholicism but she and Ryan never got to marry. God rest her soul.
