I am wondering when the euthanasia folks are going to start touting this one? I mean, it sure seemed to me as if the most caring, most civil, most intelligent president evah just said that healthcare could be cheaper if we don't give old folks and the infirm the full measure of care they now get. It appeared that Obama said we should just let them die or suffer because they aren't worth the effort. Imagine if Bush had said something like this? The left wouldn't have hesitated to call him any manner of names.
Obama said during the ABC Special on Wednesday night that a way to save healthcare costs is to abandon the sort of care that "evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve" the patient's health. He went on to say that he had personal familiarity with such a situation when his grandmother broke her hip after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Obama offered a question on the efficacy of further care for his grandmother saying, "and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?"
But who is it that will present the "evidence" that will "show" that further care is futile? Are we to believe that Obama expects individual doctors will make that decision in his bold new government controlled healthcare future? If he is trying to make that claim it is a flat out untruth and he knows it...

just about.............
Yes. That is what he said. Obama does have much use for old people or babies.
Social Security reform, Democrat style.
We old folks might have a different plan..to get rid of Zero long before he gets rid of us.
When he says this, he is speaking for large majorities his age and younger. You see, that group doesn’t think it will ever age but be eternally youthful. People in the USA are truly “nuts” to be kind.
Yes this is what they are talking about. I guess he thinks Americans are Kenyan heathens.
Ironic isn’t it, that the baby Boomers who said “don’t trust anyone over 30” will bear the brunt of the new youth’s carrying out their own plan?
It will be interesting to watch the voting demographics on this in the future. Typically seniors are a strong voting bloc. And often fooled by the Democrat adverts to make Social Security “safe for seniors” and Medicare “rock solid”.
If Republicans have any brains at all, they should grab this Obama fumble and start running for the goal line.
obama may say that, and the doctors might make that decision, but they will find out the medical czar will not approve the procedure, so it is not done. Happens all the time now, between doctors and insurance companies.
Soylent Greenies!
Y’ know?...If any civilian had said something like that about His Lowliness the Dope, the black helicopters and MIB would be swarming said civilian’s house.
I hope he keeps it up. His hoof and mouth disease will catch up with him soon, I suspect.
Then I’ll treat all the FReepers to popcorn while we all sit back and watch the movie.
STFU
FUBO
No of course not. He just wants to relieve the pain of families by taking those painful decisions out of family hands.
Its so much easier when a bureaucrat decides what number lives and what number dies. Kinda like the old star trek episode where computers ran the war and people reported to extermination facilities.
These two are just begging for a .50 caliber attitude adjustment.
They want the Baby Boomers to die off quickly.
We will bankrupt the system even without government healthcare.
And abortion worked so well, we killed off over fifty million potential taxpayaers plus at least 10 million kids who would have been born to those aborted between 1973 and 1992.
They have already looted almost half our wealth between money lost in stocks, IRAs, pension plans and 401 Ks.
They must as well shoot for the rest.
A silver haired march on D.C. might be just the ticket. Senior citizens are much more feisty when they are riled than the me, me, me younger generations. Wed. night’s ramblings by Obama might just be his Waterloo.
It's past time for him to go.....
It’s always all about me....
